IMT-Ghaziabad! plzz show the real picture!!

There has been some confusion regarding Facts and figures related to IMT.
And i m sure that i m not the only one who feels so.

So ppl....Pls help us out and post whatevr u know about IMT( good or Bad!)
Also does Insti being owned by Kamalnath help??

Hey Anand dude,
Well i have some informaiton for u but lemme tell u that the picture is very sad. As u have rightly said Mr. Kamal Nath being a Union Minister has a lot to play in terms of giving IMT a different pedestal than what it actually is.

LEmme tell u a real life incident. One fine day i got a call from my Dad(He is the CEo of a giant Steel company). He said that a person had joint his company and that he was from IMT Ghaziabad with a management degree in marketing. Also this guy was a REC Rourkela and had a decent 78% in his final year of ENGINNERING. And guess what, u know how much he was offered..?? Just 4000 bucks a month.

I know u don't believe it, neither did i, but when i went home that night, Dad showed me his resume and his first salary slip.. I lso happened to chat up with him and he told me that MDI Gurgaon is by far far a better college than IMT Ghaziabad.

And its all political games that show IMT Ghaziabad is among the top 10. Thats teh reason that i have not applied to IMT this year and never will...

I mean there must be some positive side to it too But i came across this and thought maybe u shoukld know this rather sadistic picture being painted all rosy by the political people.

yeah i wud agree with lakshya_iim abt IMT...well even i have got a exp to share..my dad has been in HR field for almost 35 yrs and now he is visiting faculty to the top b-schools including IIT SOM, NMIMS, IBS , XL(he'z frm XL himself)...to cut it short he had joined IMT as well but was shocked to see the quality of students and other things and its all a sham coz most of his students got into call centers and other industries with paltry salary...

im nt tryin to say that IMT is all bad but then i wudnt be givin it coz it doesnt make ne sense investing time and moolah for 2 yrs and then gettin a job like that

What are your views on IMI? Is it as bad as IMT? Is IMI the next best thing in CAT after MDI,SPJAIN and NITIE? Is it a place worth going to? Please reply.

Well lets of eyes opened and money saved but I guess just one or two bad experinces might not make u brand a b-school to be a garbage pit. Well being an IMTian I may tell u that not everybody is offered a paltry sum of Rs. 4000 per month. Rather I havent heard of anyone getting that amount in the last batch. And I pity the REC passout who agreed to take such a package. Even placements from REC fetch you more, rather a commerce graduate gets more than that, so why would this person get such a paltry sum and if he is the potential which I am sure he has going by his record of 78% why would he take up such a placement. Regarding the other facts yah previously IMT dint have a specialised HR course which it has now but still people who took up HR specialisation are placed in top MNCs today as far as my knowledge of the alumnis goes. And well this years summers has been rocking so far,,so i dont see why people would feel apprehensive about filling the form.

is IMT...definitely a worth of givin a shot..i mean..i am definitely shooting up this time..and 1 doubt again dude...

wht abt all these hoo-laa-hoo..abt these gr8 backdoor entries ..which happens..
r they actually happening..and dnt u think it wil have an vry adverse affect on the image of the institute itslf...coz ..obviously...the word wil b spreading like a fire in the industry and placement cell...

Dude,
I really think it is just one of those incidents which do not reflect the average guy at IMT,G. Infact IMT offers distance learning courses too, so you can still have IMT on your resume and get away with it.
The fact that the person is from an REC almost gaurantees a job in an infy/wipro/tcs with a pay package of over 2 lacs/yr, so there is definately something peculiar about the data which has come across to you.
Last year one of my very good friends passed out of IMT and he is now working with TCS and i think he started at around 3.6lacs/yr...which i believe is close to the avg sal at that place.
It is very easy to slam bang an insti..and say i saved money and I don't wanna apply.. the real test lies in getting a final admit and saying I DONT WANNA JOIN.

So janta just go ahead and apply to as many schools in the top 15 as possible and then take a desicion when you actually have more than one FINAL ADMITS in your hand.
