hi all,
Simcat-6 was a lopsided paper.
QANT: I could identify 30 sitters after exam

. If u are like me, who can solve most of the questions after exam with looking back to BRMS, then probably the concepts are not into your cache memory. The tranfer time from HDD to cache takes time ( more than the sacred time of 45 secs). Solution is identification of typical questions and revising application of them. dont waste time in concepts revision. Quant was easy
RC: My favourite section.Only way to improve this is believe me, u need to make a group and discuss on why each of the option is wrong and why it is correct. The insights it gives is just tremendous if rightly done. You will start feeling u can teach better than IMS english faculty. If any one from western side of mumbai and loves this section, we can team up for the sake of loving it as hobby even after CAT. ITs amazing to read para long sentences, long RCs and their structure. If u love to "touch" the structures of these intangibles to get that "lovely feeling", u r into right direction.
VA: IMS will say dont byheart wordlist. But at end, u will need to byheart. Thats my friends at IIMA told me. Its unfortunate, i went earlier with IMS advice ,suffering now. Now center manager tells me to go through wordlist for 1 hr every day. Even 2 marks extra due to wordlist is worth the effort now! Now if u have word power and reading power, this section will eat from your hand!
DI: I wasted time in finding sitters sets in DI. It was better to go and take question directly and solving if easy ie going question sitter wise. This required fast reading speed. Again to crack this section, only prior practise would help. I felt DI was tough
Now specific question wise

I believe in precise analysis of RC and VA as wel
l just as Quant and DI. For eg. What is the tone of author? Should get me those adverbs directly specify required tone. No guess or No instincts. Its like machine cruching. U come out and u know for sure what are your right answers in RC and VA.
This type of analysis requires strong team work as if I do it alone it takes me 20 hrs per simcat.
