SimCat...can they give any three section paper..??

hi there,

i have been givn the SimCats regularly...but since the past four SimCats...i guess there has not been a single actual paper....for First SimCat was somewhat similar to Cat 2004...Simcat 2 was Sectional Time...so was SimCat 3....Simcat 2 and 5 were four section papers and SimCat 4 was two section paper...dont u all think that we should be having a three section paper for the next three tests...because as far as i guess...Cat could generally be a three Section Test....because we have to show competency in all three sections....and when it comes to two section or four section paper...it essentially becomes an English paper and nothing else....

Or what Am i thinking is....whether these kind of papers are giving an indication that this time the Cat could actually have a four-section paper....and if it is that case...then what could be the general time spending in English....and the other two sections...

i would really like to know about the English strategy in these kinds of papers...because English has been my weaker section....then this Cat would be a problem....

Kindly suggest for remedies to be taken at the earliest...

Real cat 2004 will be a 3 section affair. Take tht frm me. As far as Simcat is concerned. Heres my prediction of no of sections fr last 3 simcats.

There will be two 3 section paper and one 5 section paper. This is fr sure. I also believe tht simcat 6 will be a 5 section affair so u have last two as a 3 section affair leading to ur final real CAT.

Now lets see how this prediction comes along. Yaaa they shd have had may be a one more 3 section paper instead of the last 4 section paper we had. (ir simcat 5).

Duh !!! I thought these people would learn from their last year experiences... Last year too, their sections were too random and their DI were on the VERY tough side. My kind advice would be never to trust IMS - but then I am biased

A more decent advice would be to ask u to be absolutely PREPARED for a three section test with a mind open to take different no. of tests as well...

i do agree that a 3 section paper is mostly on the cards...but again..CAT is unpredictable...they cud still put more bias on Math and DI puttin more questions in those sections and less in English and RC sections...thus makin it a 4 section paper...so lets be prepared for nethin...

3 section papers are what i need to prepare for more coz i have noticed that my atempts are minimum in a 3 section paper...what u say guys? is accuracy more imp in a 3 section paper?...coz if the math section is like that of cat 2003 retest...the no of attempts remain to around 70-75....is that enugh??

i wonder what makes lomi so sure a bout the ims simcats and the CAT. anyway someone tell me how is this 5 section paper gonna be like?

it is actually the fact that both act and mct have a 5 sectioner. Am not sure abt FCT. sure it has too. makes me feel tat there will be a 5 sectioner in this simcat as well. I dont work in IMS and all, i juz study there so its juz a prediction frm me. As far as real cat is concerned, 5 sectioner is most unlikely.

Hope the remaining 3 sims are 3 section affairs.
4 section papers give an undue advantage to those who are good at VA.
Take my case. Managed %iles in the range of 98-98.5 in the first 4 sims.
The %ile catapulted to 99.7 in sim5 as i exploited the separate VA section
to the hilt by scoring 30 in it.
