what if i were to tear out these blank pages (at the end) and use them as i go along - i dont want to be flippin between pages?
would anyone complain?
Hey buddy,
i REALLY dont think thats a very good idea.... altho i dont remember any mention of that in the cat bulletin, i think its a very risky idea. You really dont have to worry about the space for working, you'll have enough of it...I've written 3 CATs till now and so i can tell u with some confidence. ( Cat 2k2 to gauge the competition and 2 CATsk3 )

Glad to know somebody thinks the way I do; I actually did that for a few Aimcats. The negatives -
1) The torn pages can be messy if you are sitting under a fan and/or if you are close to a window. One such situation actually made me behave like Mr. Bean during an Aimcat.
2) Things can really go bad in the actual CAT if an invigilator comes up with his own interpretation of what is right or wrong even though it is not mentioned on the paper that it cannot be torn. Just cannot risk wasting time even if he is wrong in the end.

I my opinion, one cannot get a significant advantage by tearing the blank pages and using them. Though it can be useful in some LR sets, the risk of meeting a cranky invigilator certainly deters me from attempting this plan during actual CAT.

Hi

I do think space is enough. One has to do calculations mentally, which will be fast. Also, very few Qs are such that you are doing long calculations, then your approach is at fault.

you dont need any space to do the cat...the problems are never calculation intensive

if u think time DI's are lengthy check out ims DI's especially simcat 3!!!

coming to the point wether di will be lengthy that depends on the diff level of the paper for example if the di section is gonna be very tough this yr then ya all the 50 Q's will pbbly be pretty lengthy otherwise maybe only 2 or 3 sets maybe lengthy with lottsa pie charts and graphs.
