CL Mock # 8

I take the honour of welcoming you all to discuss about the performance of CL mock # 8. Best of luck to you all. I request all and sundry to post their scores in a comprehensive manner, i.e., Attempts, Correct, Incorrect, Marks, Time Allocation and the sequence in which they attempted different sections. Rest all later.

hi!! all..
nice paper infact a good simulation of cat..actual cat cant be worse ..cant be better than this...can some one throw some light on those 5 usage question weren't they choose the ungrammatical types rather than correct usage of words..except these 5 english was faily easy as rc were quite factual.. as far as my gut cut off here they are:

quant: 13-14
va/rc: 18-20
di/ds: 16-18
net: 52-55[
my scores 50 net
quant:13+verbal/rc :19.33 +di/ds: 17.33 ...not a great score ....will keep on trying ....

Why haven't anyone posted there score as yet ?

I thought it was the toughest mock since mock2 ... didn't do well at all.

Started with DI ... today's di had calculations ... these weren't cakewalks like those of the last 4 mocks. Spent about 39 mins.
25 correct ... 6 wrong ... 23

Then did english ... man it was tough. Also it is my weak point. So devoted extra time in an attempt to clear the cutoff ... spent 50 minutes but had only 36 attempts. Did 5 passages ... the EU portion was much tougher than usual ... RC was relatively the easiest portion of the paper.

31 correct ... 5 wrong ... 29.33

Quant ... it was not tough but had far less sitters than usual. Spent 31 mins.
21 correct ... 2 wrong ... 20.33

Total ... 90 attempts ... 77 correct ... 13 wrong ... score 72.67

the answer to your question that why there r few posts today is in ur letter itself....the paper was quite tough(surprisingly tough)
guys tell me about logical reasoning......
what was the level of lr today....
i got a very poor result in teh lr questions i attempted

I usually do well in LR . But today's was shady ... did not get the head or tail of them.
They were tough and vague ...

Right.. LR was insane. So got mighty screwed in that section. There weren't too many sitters in the graphs stuff either and the summaries thingy .. well... u get some, you screw some as usual.

Overall, disappointing, lots of mistakes in the CL answer sheet like the last Q of the John Kerry RC. Also word usage was outrageous ... .there was nuthin wrong with the word and its usage .. just something else or sometimes even nuthin. Pathetic.

Plus was that para jumbles were smooth. Out of 10, attempted 9 and got em all. The one I left was Q53.

I'm very rickety in quant... today was no different.

The scores :

EU/RC : 29.33 QA : 12 DI/DS/LR : 13.33

Total 54.66 on an attempt of 88 ! Yes, dont laugh.... it is ridiculous, but it hurts like hell.

For some reason, cant say the CAT is a gone case. Still seems doable.

Btw .. Anandvaibhav .. i dont think DI cutoff will be 16-18 ... LR was crazy, so the cutoff will be slightly less, I hope below 13.33

Yeah ... the last question of the John Kerry RC. The answer should be d.
The question was ... "...not a part of Kerry's plans " ... and they explained the opposite.

supervish there is no ambiguity in the fact the lr was absurd but my dear friend just have alook on those di sets..though i am not a topper stuff but for an average guy like me it was ok..i imagine di honchos would have ripped it like anything...same is true for actual cat..no body can argue that there arent 16-18 easy questions in all the threee sets..one who picks it get it..others like you and me keep arguing over nothing.

PS.. even i wish that the coff in lr/di should go low
