I guess i am the last one to take ACT-5. Took it on 3 days back.
Net score: 93/78/15 = 74.25
Best part was VA (33/30/3). I think it was my lucky day.

Hi rahul,
Hows u? Am frm chennai and ofcourse in IMS chennai. As far as my preps nowhere near urs. U are juz too great man. I am juz in abt 90 percentiles category. You look way ahead compared to me. I am juz catching up. I juz hope to reach my best form in the finals i.e nov 21st. All the best fr the D day. Man how great an olympiad will tht be?

Let me first start by thanking you for the compliment , and let me wish you the best of luck for the Actual cat . But you know what, it s only after I and my friend slogged it out for three months that both of us from Cochin have cracked the 99 percentile barrier
My sims have been good with only the First one being bad at 97.6 and all others were above 99.62 . My friend the key to getting a good percentile for these tests are doing exactly fourty minutes per section and making sure , by that absolutely sure of clearing all the I M S cut offs , if you clear all the cut offs of I M S Simcats atleast a few times that s enough to get calls
so seem to have a whiz 'SUZY' in Chennai . Do you think my commerce background will be good for me for the PI and I am still studying in my final year .

Hi rahul,
Answering ur query frm wateva analysis i did based on PG data. It is lot easier to get IIM calls fr a background other than engineering. This is because engg students do invariably very well compared to other stream fellows. So beng a commerce will do u more good than harm. There is noway u will have any difficulty with that. Actually ppl get mis led tht 70% of an IIM being a fresher tht only engg are preferred. I dont think so, actually if u sit in IIM's place they dont want overcrowded engg in their batch rather they want the most talented and if it is in engg students so be it. So be positive and juz deliver when it matters and u are through. All the best fr u also. It wud be helpful if u can give me some tips fr VA/RC. I am juz struggling in tht like anything. I have had the max of 97.6% which is ur minimum.

I do not know what the problems you are facing in verbal and RC but I can give you a general idea as to what needs to be done .
Read the editorials every day and read it as fast as you can. At first you may not comprehend more than half of it but in a week or so you will get the hang of it . Personally I have been reading a lot of magazines to try and improve my vocabulary as well as English usage , I read the Business World , India , Outlook , The Week and also India Today . I also find time to read most of the editorials of THE Economic Times as well . I was bad myself but in three months I have been to improve , But I feel I should started this a year back then maybe , maybe I would have been as good as i would like to be
I did last time s actual cat for practice last year and got about thirty five in English which I believe is ok .
