Ims Act

I took this test today. It was a lil different frm normal paper as it contained 165 questions. Anyhow same 3 sections. 55 each. I didnt do it tat well. felt it was of the same level like act-1 and act-3. It had easier english, medium quant and medium di standards. This is how i fared in it.

VA/RC : 37/23/14 = 19.50
Quants: 26/18/8 = 16.00
DI/LR : 25/17/8 = 15.00

Total = 88/58/30 = 50.50

My accuracy sucks big time. My attempts were good. shd have had accuracy abt 80% then my score wud have been like above 65 which is like great. This one is jus about average.

Hi all,
Act4 resembled cat more than any of the other ACTs.
My score:
Va/rc : 38.25
PS : 11
DI/LR: 16.25
Total :65.5
Not great ,but not bad either!

got a score of 11+34+16.5=61.5
diappointed with my quant..could have gone atleast 3-4 points better..anyway..

ya tats true. compared to time aimcats this is nothing. It may be because not anyone else than ims students take this ACT's. So it might be slightly better when simcats start, it wud be more popular i hope so. Anyhow i believe even ims students rarely post their ACT sores or may be even they don even take ACT's. They are more intersted in the Aimcats of time.

I don't know much about AIMCAT's.Are they considerably tougher than our act's?
The act's ,in my opinion ,are not something to sneeze at. I haven't met anyone who has scored well above 75 in all the 4 act's.What is a good score in the Aimcats?
Do guys who score around 70 in acts notch up similar scores in the aimcats?
Also,could you shed some light on the correspondence between aimcat scores and
all india ranks?Am i right in supposing that a score of 70 would fetch u a rank of 500?
I know these things vary from test to test,but what's the general trend?

No aimcats arent in any way tougher than ACT's. It is just that i feel that some ACT for example ACT -2 was totally off cat pattern. It had very short RC's. This wasnt just CAT. But besides this ACT-2 other ACT's were a very good mixture. The reason why people like taking aimcats to ACT is easily because u get ranking and more detailed analysis whereas in ACT's u have only pagaguy.com to help u in comparing wit others. Thats why i believe that Simcats will be more popular and more people will take it up. Aimcat, i feel are almost like CAT. ACT aren't bad either. If u take up one Aimcat, u will understand there's not much difference. I would say it doesn't matter whether its ACT or Aimcat wat we need is experience, thats all. Rankings just won help. It cud be too good that u cud become overconfident or too depressing that u start giving up. Coz theres noone who can accurately say this cutoff or this rank is enuf. And its no guarantee u will do the same in real CAT. Take these tests as practice and don read too much into rankings and other stuffs. Well one significant differnce that i observed is the IMS ACT english is very much easier than Aimcat or let's say cat standards. This is just not true fr my case though, am speakin generally.

Amyhow if u still wanna know how the people who do well in ACT like get above 70 perform in Aimcat. well lets take the case of pagalguy princess Suzy, she got i suppose 80 odd in ACT -2 and 3. She consistently gets in top 200 ranks of time. She is ofcourse an IMS student though. Well if u take up time it cud differ fr u. So no predictions, just take up an aimcat and see fr urself. If u get 70 in any aimcat, am sure u will be in top 100 fr sure and may be in top 50 also.

Anyhow tell me somethin abt urself. Am doin final yr B.tech Aeronautics frm MIT (chennai of course).
