Clarification regd. SOP

hello ppl,

Please Clarify.....Are we supposed to submit any kind of an SOP in IIMs or in any other Indian B-school(XL,FMS etc.) at any stage of admission ?

Experienced guys who got calls last year.. Did u guys take anything like an SOP to the interview ??

Hi deepak.
They don't exactly ask for an SOP, but send u a form with a whole bunch of Qs, one of which is "why do u want 2 do an MBA?". The other Qs vary from IIM to IIM. I remember 1 asking for "a memorable incident and how u handled it". then there r the other routine Qs like strengths, weaknesses etc. Can't remember any more. If i do i'll post it.

Hi Deepak,
You do need your SOP for TAPMI. But i am not so sure about the others. Why don't you prepare one for yourself, since you may be asked why you want to do an MBA?

Hi Deepak....... as far as I remember.. last yr in IIMB they definitely had 3 essay Qs in the app form.. one of them was SOP, other was ur learnings from work ex/education & third was something like strengths/weaknesses...
& everybody i am sure takes those essays pretty seriously tho they dont influence final score as much as in gmat..

Hi guys,

I had an IIMB call last year.

Three essays :

1) Why MBA ?
2) Accomplishments and influences in your life ?
3) How do you think MBA will benefit you ?

These were the questions on MBA ? if you want I will dig up xerox copy of form and send you actual question but they were along these lines.

hey..can some experienced guys...whom been thru the interviews tell me what were their attempt.....whether the call was unexpected....accuracy and stuff
