For a change,I started with VA.Whenever we do VA at the end,it's like under a bit of pressure. So,starting with VA proved to be good.Be slow through the section and attempt by negation. That should help.Plus analyse the papers you have taken.I remember you from last yr threads

Hope you are doing well.

The second question first. The SIMCATs discussion threads have indeed lost their aura. But,SIMCATS,I dont feel that have lost their charm. The difference between the SIMCATs and the AIMCATs I feel,is that,SIMs focus more on conceptual understanding and tricks while AIMs are generally more of formula based. Also,SIMCAT VA is definitely better than TIME (many will agree to this

) And just remember one thing. If a paper is easy,it's easy for all.If its not it's for for many. So,it does not matter that much.SIMCAT takers are indeed low this yr plus the competition is not that much as last years' but still,I would recommend you to do it seriously and analyse the papers.
Regarding quant, one could have easily done 7-9 questions without any effort.just tricks such as back substitution, generalizing ideas (remember that 2:1 triangle problem. The solution given by IMS is right but,I did it by considering the triangle to be an equilateral one.just got easier.)So,practice stuff you have learnt till now and analyse all the mocks. That should help. Also,CAT QA cutoff can never be 17/80 i.e. 21.25% So,expect the paper to be easier than this one.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Shashank.
