There is nothing like a menial job...!!!
It's your attitude which makes it menial...

maybe one can substitute the word menial with low-end to make it sound less offensive.
But the thing abt mindset,well..,its a nice soundbyte and all that, but sorry to say,in reality, its nonsense.

The fact is most of these outsourcing jobs(including s/w) involves work where we hardly need to apply our brains or our knowledge, which is pretty sad.In the company i work in,there are ppl from iims and iits, who do work which even an ordinary grad (or maybe even a school pass out) can do.What a waste of talent..

An interesting article on this topic:

Why do we opine only jobs requiring use of brain to be "GREAT"? We've been nurtured with these prejudices. We probably assosiate too much ego with being "intelligent" and "above-average" and thats the reason we find "low-end" jobs unsatisfactory.

and i thot ppl actually wanted such jobs becos they wld find it more enjoyable and satisfying.
i didnt even hv a hint that it was ego which which was driving them .what a shame
I guess its the same ego which is driving ppl like sachin and lata mangeshkar to stick to their profession-after all playing cricket iw qualitatively no different from any other physical work..is it?
