Please use this thread to post your scores and discuss strategies of AIMCAT1005. (10th to 18th October)
Pattern and marking scheme
Section-Question Nos/No. of questions/Marks per question/Negative marks
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning 1-20 20 3 1
Verbal Ability 21-45 25 3 1
Quantitative Ability 46-65 20 3 1
Total - 65, 20-25-20
Instructions - Read the instructions given at the beginning/end of a section or group of questions very carefully.
- The total time for the test is 135minutes. You may apportion this time among various sections as you wish.
- You are expected to show your competence in all the three sections.
- Each wrong answer will attract a penalty of one mark.
- There are no negative marks for unattempted questions.
- You can view only one question at a time.
- You can navigate to any question of your choice.
- During the test, you can mark questions for review and return to them at a convenient time.
- An answer once marked can be changed any number of times before submitting the test. However the last marked answer will be considered as the final answer.

Another major screwup on my part.. 
QA - 6C, 4W - 14 (25 mins)
VA - 16C, 7W - 41 (50 mins)
DI/LR - 7C, 2W - 19 (60 mins)

Another disaster for me....LR/Di scores have been plummeting and this time i have touched a new low..My forte has turned into my biggest weakness now
DI=2C 7W= -1 
VA=19c 4w=53 
QA=5C 2W =13
OA=65
Scored well in english but i guess that is because the section was really easy . Have come across the football set in last few mocks ..and i dont have a clue abt how to solve it .Specially the one with few matches played and the goal for and goal against data given...how to go abt such sets?

Seems it is screwing time for test takers and I am no exception.
DI--4C,5W--7
VA--13C,6W--33
QA--5C,4W--11
OA--51
Giving the final points table of a sports competition and using it and only it to find out who played against whom in the first stage is a DI type I am yet to get acquainted with. Concentration was a major problem in verbal in 1006 and I overcame it here to some extent. Thought of attempting the second passage but decided against it.Risk taking is fine but do it at the right place and at the right time.
CAT 2006--90.56%-ile
CAT 2007--96.22%-ile;rejected by S P Jain
CAt 2008--98.19%-ile;rejected by S P Jain,waitlisted at 691 by MDI for PGPM
Next target-Season 2009(there's nothing to lose)

Stumped and by DI big time .... cudn't simply understand the chain question and wasted 10 mins in it.. nd thn the DI,DS, AR marks set got da better of moi, seems that all my answers in that set are wrong.. ...

A rude wake-up call by TIME.....thanks
This was by far the most difficult AIMCAT that I faced this year. Apart from VA ( which also looked tough while I attempted the question), the other two sections were absolutely horrible. Add to that, the horizontal scrolling and intermittent network disruptions, which is so common in the TIME centers.
Anyway my scores :
DI - 4C 4W - 8 ( 60 minutes)
QA - 7C 2W - 19 ( 45 minutes)
VA - 17C 2W - 49 ( 30 minutes)
OA - 28C 8W - 76 
Found the DI section extremely difficult, while the QA section had its share of difficult questions.
The pure vocab-based questions are a pain, and left them straightaway....
The RCs were difficult imo, but managed to get them correct I hope
Overall, the difficulty level was quite high.

QA - 17 ( 6C1W ) [ 45 minutes ]
DI - 12 ( 4C ) [ 60 minutes ]
VA - 27 ( 10C3W ) [ 30 minutes ]
OA - 56 ( 20C4W )
kept trying to score something in DI.....Couldn't give enough time to VA..
Those starting with VA would find themselves in good position......

I tried attempting that Examination set but faced a problem...it said that the exam had 8 questions in each part and every question carry equal marks and there was no negative marking ...but marks of the first student in the first section were 91...how can that be possible
