Hi Mam,
In short :
X th : 80%
XII th:67%
B.Tech: 65.34%
In my final year of engineering i had started my own Training consulting company ( www.aaaservices.co.in/) which is still into existence and we are growing aggressively.right from raising capital to legal issues, marketing, setting up contact, financials till meeting the break even and after that are managed by me and my partner. During my college i had worked in a BPO for 26 months(full time during night)..so i had college in day and work at night,,. After graduation, I also have a 2 year experience till now full time IT as software engineer (here i have received few awards for work).Extras, i am amongst the intial member (i think seventh) members of NGO named Prerna and we work for upliftment in Orissa. I have been playing tennis for past 12 years and have won few medals and certis in that too.
First, Do you think, my academics will be a big hindrance for me getting an admit from MICA ?
Second, will my work ex during college be given some weightage?
Third, will you be coming over to Bangalore sometime?

Hi Aditya
First Academic will not be a hindrance as many things you have done during your engineering years justify it. We will certainly ask you why, what, how when you reach the PI stage.
Second: We will figure out what you have learnt and what you have contributed. That is more important than just the number of years.
Third: Post CAT seems to be a good time to go anywhere, I think, to reach out to more students, what say??
Cheers
Deval

hello ma'am
may i please know the cut-offs for CAT to get through to the MICAT stage?
also, to what extent does getting a 95+ %ile in english section offset getting a lesser percentile in another section?
by the way ma'am, please make sure that you come somewhere in the eastern corridor after cat
would love to meet you even if i don't get through because of my horrid quants skills
also, don't you think the MICA pgdm(c) form should be a little more subjective where guys can talk about their foray of skills? like work-ex related to MICAn fields, entrepreneurial ventures, for enumerating skills in the marketing, advertising, social, dramatic, musical, writing, eca (you know artsy) activity thing? :(

Hi,
Last year's cut off were: Overall 90 percentile, sectional: 50 in Quant, 50 in DI and 60 in verbal. That answers your question. To get that 90 overall, you can do well in verbal and get just 50 each in DI and quant
Because MICA offers a PGDM (C), the M for Management requires basic quant and DI. for the C, we have MICAT which looks in to your creative ability, lateral thinking ability, more subjective writing skills. PI looks in to relevant work ex. The more relevant it is, the more you are grilled. Dram, music come in extra curriculars so is in line with sports or any such event you could have participated in.
Will surely to a Bharat Darshan or MICA jagruti Yatra as stated in the above post.
Cheers
Deval

Professor,
I am currently in the US and have 60 months of IT experience GMAT 680.
Is there a provision for MICA to arrange an interview and MICAT here in US. Might be an issue for me to travel to India. Its very expensive, immigration check etc, time consuming.
I wondering if this can be arranged as the school has collaboration with US universities.
thanks,
iLive
thanks,

Professor ,
I had read about 15 months full time course in Communication Management.
I am currently working in IT sales and have 5 yrs exp.
This link doesn't seem to be existing any more.
Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Communications)
Eligibilty for this course was either through CAT/GMAT/XAT.
Can you please check and let me know if this course still exists in MICA else I have to look for the regular 2 years course in communication management.
Regards
krishna
