CCC, as you know is a six month programme in Crafting Creative Communication - preparing you for a career in copy writing / art direction. For art direction, you do need educational background in fine/applied art.

You can do both CCC and PGPCM, one after the other. A student of mine from 2004 batch had done that.

CCC helps you prepare a portfolio and supports placement efforts. However, there is no active placement cell like that of PGPCM.

Well i am back again this yr...last yr missed the mica cut off by 0.3%ile...so gearing up all again
Can u throw little light on the rural stint program - what exactly students do or what is its objective?

What about For-ex program - what are its Terms & C's

We are so pleased to have you onboard.Well,you can see from the posts on the MICA 2010-12 (Mica 2010-12),each one acknowledging other fellow's answers but did not seem to quite take the risk of relying on them or divulging any details they were quite unsure of.We seem to have some morally responsible MICA aspirants here!!!Now,all things seems to be in place.

I have a few questions
1)What is the kind of student profile that MICA looks for?Are students with work-ex given any preference?
2)Could you highlight about the Global Immersion programme and Student exchange programme?
3)Do MICAns receive international placement offers?

Hi xanthipe,

Here are replies to your queries.

1. MICA looks for students with lateral thinking ability, among other things. The communications management industry looks for and thrives on newer, different ideas and hence this is a necessary skill. The jobs also require co-ordination and working in teams of diverse people. Hence ability to be open to and work with people of diverse background becomes important. MICA experience prepares you for that very well. Good communication skills are a must

2. We do have a students exchange programme with NTU Singapore, ESCEM France, SMU and UT Pan AM - US. You can opt for any one of them. These programmes may see some revision for better this year. Global Immersion this year was UK - Cambridge and Wales (need to get this correct), and Hungary and Switzerland. Last year it was Cambridge and China. This can again change depending on the convenience of the partner institutes.

3. We don't have direct international placements. However, several MICANs after a year or two in Indian industry have moved on all over the world. South East Asia, Middle East, Europe and US are some of the places.

My questions:

1. What role does our academic performance play as we apply for MICA?
(As in @ school & college ...for example what are the chances of a person getting in if he/she satisfies the eligibility criteria but is 'just' above the same)

2. In previous years MICA had a policy of calling students with an OA Percentile above 90 and sectional being 90, 50, 50 (VA, QA, DI) ...this year onwards it has been changed to 60, 50, 50 (VA, QA, DI) and the overall 90 remains as it is... are the selectors looking for something different from this year onwards?

3. Is there an overall and sectional cut off in MICAT as well?

4. What is the ratio of students who are called for GE/PI after MICAT to those appearing for MICAT?

5. Does the MICAT score affect our GE/PI ?
