Please use this thread to post your scores and discuss strategies of AIMCAT1006. (3rd to 7th October)

Pattern and marking scheme

Section-Question Nos/No. of questions/Marks per question/Negative marks
Verbal Ability 1-20 20 4 1
Logic & Data Interpretation 20-40 20 4 1
Quantitative Ability 40-60 20 4 1
Total - 60, 20-20-20 (one more 20 to T20 )

Instructions
  • Read the instructions given at the beginning/end of a section or group of questions very carefully.
  • The total time for the test is 135minutes. You may apportion this time among various sections as you wish.
  • You are expected to show your competence in all the three sections.
  • Each wrong answer will attract a penalty of one mark.
  • There are no negative marks for unattempted questions.
  • You can view only one question at a time.
  • You can navigate to any question of your choice.
  • During the test, you can mark questions for review and return to them at a convenient time.
  • An answer once marked can be changed any number of times before submitting the test. However the last marked answer will be considered as the final answer.
Back to the 4 -1 mode ....

Not even a 100 in a +4-1 paper.Still happy..
Finally balanced scores across all 3 sections after a long time..
DI-27
VA-30
QA-33
OA-90

I'm not sure how much i will get for this score..Maybe a 95%ile( based on my analysis of the paper)But i might just clear the cutoffs in all 3 sections...
Now hoping that the curve starts rising again...

I will be back!!

Just Gave the test

VA 8C 5W =27
QA 9C 2W = 34
DI 8C 2W = 30

Total 91 ....
VA was certainly easier....Ill probably not clear its cut off

Dint have a decent outing this time..

OA 59
QA 8C 3W 29 (My stongest area has ditched me for the first time)
DI 6C 2W 22 Dont know which 2 questions were wrong but am satisfied with DI this time. Spotted the sitters correctly...

VA 3C 4W - 8 - Power cut thrice and dint feel like reading the RCs again...
Parajumbles have always been my week point.. Have to work on it...
Surprisingly pick the correct word section has also been a debacle...

Some how couldnt concentrate correctly this time...

Have an AIMCAT tomorrow Again

gave the test just now.......seems like an okay performance in all the sections and expect to clear cutoff in all....here goes my scores:

QA 9C 4W 32 marks (don't know which 4 got wrong)....40 min
DI 11C 0W 44 marks (have come back strongly after 1008 debacle)....42 min
EU 10c 8w 32 marks (I might hav scored less here, neverthe less hope to clear cutoff).......53 min

OA 30c 12w 108 marks

paper standard was quite good and realistic in all the 3 sections....

CAT 2005: QA 96.XX, DI 75.XX, EU 96.XX , OA 97.25 No calls
CAT2008: QA 98.09, DI 97.72, EU 88.38, OA 98.26 No calls
GMAT SEPT '08: 710/6.0
Calls: ISB-H (Verdict: Rejected)

the worst AIMCAT I have ever given in terms of infra!
The TIMER stopped 1 hr into the test and forced me to submit the paper before the actual time.
Without the timer I was just groping in the dark!

Anyway my scores aren't great -
EU - 35 (11R , 9W).......the toughest EU by TIME so far.None of the VA questions were easy.The RC's were very inferential.

DI - 28 (7R)........this section was a bombshell. I found the 1st set (2 'stupid' sons) and the colored balls set unsolvable.

QA - 19 (6R , 5W)......the easiest section of the paper but my scores don't reflect that!

OA - 82 (24R , 14W)........my accuracy is hurting me real bad now!

@threadstarter.......when u are putting up the poll pls. make it public!
@anshul.......great score yaar.....this will get u 98-99 for sure!

Dude the worst thing is i sat with those 2 DI sets for half an hour and attempted only 4 qns......very bad qn selection from both of us

Lol.......the best part is I don know how long I sat with those two sets.
If I am attempting more in QA than DI.......it can be only because of the timer coz. I am partial to DI.......

and varun....the worst part is that those two sets comprised of more than half the di paper!
