don't mean to hurt anyone or boast nething but I hv been in IMS last year too ...last year my score used to hover around 78-89..I got 91 in cat, guys who used to get 96+ ,on national achievers consistently ended up wid 85-93!!God knows wat kind of evaluation they do! or they care to do it or not...this tym too I am enrolled wid IMS frankly to save few bucks...But I feel they haven't changed!!!!My motto is to be adapted to online environ n sweat till u improve... percentile of IMS is plain rubbish by my past experiences...people might differ but dis is my personal experience....ATB

WTF??? i believe this was the easiest mock cat i had given in my life...seriously guys, english was super easy as compared to time and cl standards..DI was also easy....only quants was of medium difficulty.....dont get me wrong, but isnt the IMS level down wrt TIME?

puy, m enrolled to both... what are you looking for level of difficulty or simulated cat paper.. means mock nearest to cat?? increasing difficulty level doesnot means that it is actual cat like....
i m enrolled to both.. sometimes difficulty level of time is leaves cat far behind which is also not true..
ims or time or whatever.. focuses to give u cat like feel.. may be the coming cat would have similar pattern no body can predict it...
cat keeps changing.. best adapter will get the triumph,,,, rest will wait for next..

yaar..i was was going through ur posts...and frankly speaking i dint find any reason reason..y r u so upset...what anirudh said is not wrong...but it is not 100% rite also(atleast acc. to me its not rite..openion may differ 4m person to person)...what i think iMS and TIME %tiles r not something which gives u a clear idea where u stand...the real CAT situation will be diff. in every aspect...in this matter i'm fully agree with "VISIONIIM-ACL" post dat we should not worry much about our %tile(its on d previous page and its a very good posting...plz read it)...we should concentrate on our study and prepration and dats it...atleast dont worry too much about %tiles nw..in my previous post i have stated this fact dat these %tiles are flawed...
and what anirudh was saying...i would like to say that it might be his own mixture of luck and prepration dat he got 91 despite of getting 78-89 in mock cats...and the luck of his friends were not in their favour and they might had found those question difficult...
what i am trying to say that it all depends what kind of question u get on D-DAY...

P.S.- no mock cat can ever predict out actual %tile of cat...coz its a whole different world..

Hey I didn't mean to depress or dishearten anyone... I put in da simple facts ... regarding luck bro in CAT U get wat u deserve atmost!! never more then dat but often less! its no game...da guys whose perfomance I mentioned couldn't perform well in any other xam be it nmat,xat,fms...see I hv been in ims fr last two years,dis tym in one of da few classic batch...my broken up score in last yrs mock in Ims - I used to clear eng cutoff sometimes only dat too barely n I got 97 in cat ,in di in da mocks i used to clear cutoffs wid same freq n i got 50 in cat...My post is only meant to state it clearly dat mock's perfomance is never directly related to ur cat n its very true in Ims's perspective. Just get da feel of the setup ,identify ur weak areas n keep working on dem....

bro...i was not writing against u or anybody...i was simply xpresing my views...if i offended u in any way then i'm sry...what u wrote is rite..nobody can get more than he deserved...
even i am not satisfied with ims...there level of difficulty always remains different from those of TIME and CL and attimes even CAT also..and this does not get students get a clear idea of cat questions... i have mainsioned in my previous posts also that %tile system at ims is not satisfactory...but then we cant do anything...so i dont think there z any need to discuss about it and waste our time...
this is the first time i'm taking CAT xam..and my %tile is also moving within 80-90 %tile...i just hope i can inc. it...
anyways..best of luck for ur CAT xam...u'll make it this time..

See,This time IMS mock process is not upto the mark.they are distributing the CD for online mock and what happen a guy who getting 78 marks in paper based mock getting around 90%tile and when its come to online mock with same marks you will get around 80%tile.why this happen the main reason for this is those guys who are not committed to CAT they just get the answer key and upload the marks now what happen the number of student who clear the cut goes up and this makes a huge difference in %tile.

My thinking is that don't worry about %tile just try to get around 35-40% marks in each section and examine your mock what silly mistake you have done and try to don't repeat it in next mock.

so,guys this is time to work on your week section and nobody can predict your score in CAT but yes your mock can tell your story it always have chance to be +10%tile or -10%tile in CAT from your mock score.

so,at this time only work on your week section and examine your mock and don't think about your mock because CAT is all about logic,basic fundamental,application and your confidance.

u r rite..even %tile mapper which is given on the ims home page does not reflect the real %tile...so lets stop this discussion here..amit z rite..we should concentrate on our marks and prepration rether than %tiles of ims and TIME etc...
for those who r not satisfied with ims %tile system i'll suggest to go for online mock tests..there r various tests sites which might help u with ur prepration...i'm listing some of the sites below..

2) tenaday.co.in
3) www.tcyonline.com

there are more sites for this...but i'm using these only and my personal xperience z dat they r enough for ur prep... hope it will help everybody..
