Well the statement is trying to put across the point that like lemurs, the new world monkeys have unclear origins. Now, the author is not giving his opinion on new world monkeys but just stating a fact, and comparing them to lemurs.

look the point that he's making is that lemur monkeys have 'unclear' origins.....
now, a description (adjective) is a judgment....
however, whether the origins are clear or not is open to verification, hence it's a fact...

Sorry for the groan, bhai dekh english is a very funny language.....So said Mr Amitabh Bachan....that too way back in the 70s.......when he was an ANGRY young man........now I am digressing too much......But the crux of the matter is :

=> Pls look at the entire para given( with a cool mind of course).
=> Then look at the flow of the sentences.

In this particular case it says : "like the lemurs, new world monkeys have unclear origins"......then it goes on b lah blah blah abt sum biological crap.

Pts to note :
=> 1st sentence has been picked from the middle of a text.
=> Because the preceding paras wud have explained sumthings abt Lemurs.
=> The conclusion from the facts from those paras wud have been that " Lemurs have unclear origins"
=> Now understand this is a conclusion drawn from some facts, therefore it is a deemed fact. and not a Judgement.
=> So when we say that " like lemurs, mew world monkeys have unclear origins".......this also is a deemed fact.

So it goes like this.I was sick and obv was a mistake turning up for the test.I started off with VA,and was ill by the time it ended.Couldn't read/count properly after that.

VA - 16r,7w; 57 -My post test analysis says that the key here was to maximise with RCs and be selective while attempting VA questions.The last 2 vocabulary based questions were tough cookies.

DI- 3r,3w; 9-Shameful as this score may sound,I think here 2 sets namely distance-time(cities A,B,C et al.) and the Train stoppages one were relatively easier.Even the set pertaining to codes was doable.Besides that,I think the newspaper set was time consuming.(Debatable cos i'm not sure how qualified I am to judge with that score)

QA- 7r,1w; 27-I suppose this section was easier than I thought immediately after the paper.There were sitters indeed,but I request other puys to point out the easier questions so I may have more clarity as to where I stand.My judgement said QA was moderately tough.

OA score-93.

Puys something is wrong..Just 3 pages for IMS Simcat6.. Either IMS has lost out on all its students or maybe people are generally tending to refrain from discussing the exam.I searched for the forum with regards to the latest online Mock of TIME and to my surprise i could find more than 20 pages.

Anyways i have two queries relating to the exam (Simcat6) also.

Firstly how are you viewing the questions after giving the exam. I beleive we can just view it on the CD and then also a copy paste of the questions is nt possible.Isn't it a bit ridiculous that the IMS people are not providing us with the questions with the performance analysis sheet. I anyways can't carry a CD with me always.

Secondly how did you people find the Verbal Section The cutoffs have gone very high i believe. Pardon me for my ignorance but most of the Grammar and the other VA questions were to be left alone. RC was doable and one could have answered 12/12 in that. Wasn't this the trick ??

Hoping for a prompt reply from your side puys.

you are right buddy.....
despite giving a good take to RCs...... i lost marks in grammar and VA ... and finally, landed up with not clearing the VA cut offs in such a easy paper ( as suggested by trend til now )

ya buddy if you see the IMS analysis of the questions leaving aside the first grammar question all the other questions were "Challenger" or "Speed Breaker" . I seriously can't reason it out that how can the cutoffs go so high. Lat sentence and FIJ questions are always a bit tricky. i have been advised to leave them all alone..

yea...i think the reason for not clearing cut off in VA is that i ( or others who could not clear it ) could not stop myself from attending those speed breakers and challengers .. should have confined myself to RCs.... anyways, looking forward to a better outing with VA in SIMCAT 7....

ya lets hope for the best. how are you people viewing the questions but. i seriously find it tough to analyse the paper properly. do u fellow puys have the access to the question paper on ur student home page?
