I guess even South Africa, India and Sri lanks were having top three ranking before Champion's Trophy.
On a more serious note, I don't know about rankings as till the last batch passed out (2009) NIBM was offering one year program and that to quite niche to banking sector, so I don't think it it was covered in any rankings as of now. But if you talk of bands, personally I will put NIBM in the band of 20th to 50th institute in this country, teaching finance.
Mostly job offered are at Scale II level in public sector banks and that can safely be taken as least salary if one can avoid being in the 5% of the batch.
I guess the batch size for current batch is 60 so it can be something between 60 to 70 for 2012 class.

Fees is 3.5 lacs in total.

I am having 3 + years of expr in IT and interested to get into finnc..Exposure to asset mngmnt and invstmnt banking...

I just wantd to know that what kind of profile is offered by these public sector bank...Also are these jobs branch/customer oriented or profile like treasury mgmt, policy resrch, gnrl mgmt etc are offered

All these profiles,which u hav stated, are being offered...from my stay of 3 months in NIBM I have observed that treasury management is the most preferred and then comes risk management..Though it totally depends on interest,of which u will come to know once you are in 2 year..
few of my friends out there have same profile as urs so in case u want to talk to them PM me...

what good points shall i write in the form telling the panel about my interest in nibm(dont; know anything about economics/finance/banks etc )

nibm was referred to me by my relative (govt bank manager)telling that banks/cos. directly recruit from nibm so it;s a good colj
so for a person like me please tell something more

During my GD/PI process i was being told that 70% weightage is given to Gd/pi and rest to ur xtra currics,acads,work ex,CAT score....but all these indirectly carry more weightage bcas during ur PI they cast an impression on the mind of an interviewer...Right...
see i dont know anyone in my batch having less than 60 in graduation,10 or 12 xcept me....( i am having 57 in graduation)..would say only few psu's looks for profile(prior to ur mba) for shortlisting candidates for PI during placement process..as u r having good profile except ur 12 marks ur job shud be in any interview to persuade the interviewer regarding the same...

P.S. information regarding weightages is not explicitly mentioned anywhere but was told during GD/PI process...

Hi.

u dont need to do any xtra homework for NIBM gd/pi prep...basics of eco,fin would do which i am sure u wud do while preparing for any GD/PI..
Regarding filling of form would say that be genuine...during GD/PI u wud b surely asked a que why finance after eng? u jst need to justify at that point...nobody can do that so jst confuse them...
