Hi Puys,

Work Ex- 39 months as of Sept 09, in IT
Seeking a meaningful job where apart from puting my mind into work can also put my heart at work. Looking to do MBA in Development Management, recently came to know about IIFM.

IT experience or for that matter any experience of that kind is really good, andto top it with with 99%ile would be really good, but to tell you the truth, gd and pi also play a crucial role, and you have to prove the interviewers that you are good for the course, its not that tough though, a bit of flare should do. Forms are out, fill em, IIFM is one lovely place to spend 2 years as well as set a nice platform for the rest of your life. For the time being concentrate on cat as well as GD PI, people have been selected at 80 but there are many who couldnt clear at 96-97 arnd abt..

Placement for this season will begin in january, and recession just about to recede, things will change, dont go by statistics, placements are good, but moreover its the profile which people make here that appeals people more. Median salary has been around 6-7 for last 3 4 years.... min salary is around about 4-5 lakh... varying with recent economic changes... but is bound to surge.......
there are about 50 odd companies that apply to select the students from IIFM, and of that around 25 are called upon for placement depending on the values they provide and howu they fulfil the mandate of IIFM, many banks, leading ngo's and core forest companies do visit regularly, plus the very in and hot companies of micro finance come every year.... since you are interested in Dev Mngmt, u ll find this college is actually made for you.

Thanks a lot for the valuable Info.Really appreciate it.Can you please tell us about the profiles on offer after graduation in terms of exposure to the specific segments? And does IIFM give the students the facility of dual specialisation,as in if someone is interested in development banking as well as environmental management?

It seems it is your lucky day.. in fact IIFM provides dual specialisation.. you have the choice of majoring in Development management and a minor in environments.... or any combination u may like... profiles.... mmm well people may get placed directly as a manager of an NGO... thats a good start if you want to be in development sector...or if you aim to be in UN... choices are many once you pass out of IIFM and IIFMights are known to change jobs faster than anyone else.. growth is really good... except in the times of recession when everythin is in slowdown... but even in recession, people from IIFM have been fearing better.
