I don't know if I fit the bill for DT, but since someone suggested that I nominate myself, so here goes my Nomination.

After appearing for lots of Engineering entrance exams, 2 CATs and a GMAT, and looking at the successes here at PG, I thought I would also give group study a chance and what could be better than being a part of the DT team in the company of the CAT phodus

I have experience of 2 CATs and also GMAT, which is a CAT too! Even though I haven’t been great in the previous CATs , I believe this time I am better prepared or will be!

My seriousness could be determined by the fact that I would be appearing for just the CAT and no other exam this year. So it will be all or none and I am bound to give it my best shot.

As they say "A few people succeed because they are destined too; but most succeed because they are determined too". And I am determined to realize my destiny.

Hope I make it to the Pune DT 09

I would lke to nominate myself for the Pune DT. Here are my scores -

CL Proc Mock 1 - 98.5%ile
CL Proc Mock 2 - 97.6%ile
CL Proc Mock 4 - 98.88%ile

Havent been able to give the 3rd one as yet plan on giving it soon.

My main reason for trying t join the PDT is to get together with a bunch of people who really want to do well in the CAT so that we all can motivate each other.

I think that the main issue for most of us is not that we dont have the requisite mental tools to crack the CAT but that it is difficult for us to bring the degree of rigor to our preparatios that is required. Hopefully we'll be able to solve that problem for each other through this.

Dunno where to start. Ok, I am a Software Engineer (No surprises), having a work experience of 3 years and 3 months, working at Pune. I started my tryst with CAT 2 years back. Got a lone call from NMIMS, didn't join. Next year, just when i was picking up on lost concepts, i was sent to Seattle, WA on a company assignment. Had just enough time to appear for CAT 2008. Couldn't attempt other papers. So its this year when its now or never for me and i am pretty confident of the outcome.

Here's the previous CAT scores:
CAT 2007 - 93.87 %ile
CAT 2008 - 94.36 %ile.
CAT 2009 - fingers crossed.

My AIMCAT scores are:

1018 - 96.97%ile
1017 - 97.28%ile
1015 - 93.85%ile
1013 - 91.19%ile

Pune - evokes fond memories - my home, my starting ground which shaped me, made me what I am, and Pune PG - miss those meets, bakar, fun we used to have.

Ah, enough of the senti stuff. We never had a academically useful meet in Pune.

Its a good thing that we are now progressing towards more useful meets and discussions. What I really missed during my prep was a core group dedicated towards CAT. (None of my friends were giving CAT). So, my only motivation came from myself and PagalGuy.

Anyway, I do hope that all of you who are nominating do following things:

1. Be regular on PG and this thread - and being regular means posting your status of prep, doubts,etc. atleast 3-4 times a week.
2. Meet regularly and discuss doubts, mocks, prep strategies, et al.
3. Not spam this thread.
4. Finally, treat me.

I am saying this considering what happened to the Pune DT last year. There was almost no participation and it became a laughing stock. Entirely incorrect image of a city which is known as the Oxford of the East.

PS: I am no stalwart. Am just a regular user who tries helping others.

Well, Here goes my nomination. I am Ameya Pimpalgaonkar aka IIM maniac on PG. CAT 09 is gonna be my 4th attempt rather 3rd serious attempt. CAT 08 has been of immense importance & help to me.

Ok coming back to scores, I am not a phodu, but I know my abilities clearly. Only difference this time is, I am not desperate to crack the CAT, But determined.

Been off PG a bit lately, been drowned in a lot of academic and non-academic work.

Wow, it's a big task, to choose a Dream Team. It's also ironical, since I was never DT material

Great to see many nominations so far...

Well, a short introduction from my side.... I've spent almost my entire life in Pune before going God's Own Kampus last year. Did my mechanical engineering, worked for a few years, had my own startup which didnt quite work out, got 5 IIM rejects in 1 year (Vishal - I SO understand dude... great to see you here ), then finally landed up in IIM Kozhikode after 3 attempts.

Do come regularly to Pune and for the meets, except for the last one when I had to cancel last moment - Sorry there, IIMmaniac...

Will be around to guide you as much as possible, although with folks like ganeshiima, nikhilkulk, deep and greenspan around, my work will be limited here.

Whether we r der or nt, Pune team need u man.......
guys do bug this person (my source of inspiration for repeating CAT) with ur doubts and to get occasional dose of motivation.........
