Raison d'être:

1. Was part of KDT last year - had SPJain n NMIMS calls but chucked out by both - nice lessons have been learned and I want to put it to best use this year.

2. Able team member and willing to help out the team as needed -I am availible most of the time through gtalk

3. Being a techie who spends 10 hours+ in front of a monitor - I want to make best use of Computerised-CAT this year by learning from the very best minds in UDT.

4. The honour and the elation that comes from being a part the legacy called - UDT.

Introduction :

This will be my second outing and the last one. Last year, I thought I was preparing, but I was not. I thought my mock scores were good enough, but they were not. Result : a mediocre 93.92 percentile in CAT 08.
But this time I am trying really hard to turn the tide in my favour. Will try to give my best shot, and I am confident i'll make it this time.

I have a problem in DI as most of my friends know. Working on it very hard, I am sure I'll master the art of DI.

I am quite active in PG, posting mainly in the quant threads but not limited to that only. Participated in the recent kolkata PG meet with Tanveer. Quite eager to share my knowledge/advice/suggestions to fellow puys if he/she needs it. I am almost always online on ym/gtalk when I am at home.


Lastly, it'll be a honor and privilege to be a part of the UDT.

i nominate myself for UDT'09

did'nt gave cat last year,but gave xat and snap(widout any preperation) snap=62 and xat=85%ile....damn serious this time about cat and mba, joined test series this week and gave 1014 and made few blunders but i have complete faith in my abilities and i know i can improve.....so hereby i nominate myself and promise to improve in the next mock.

Reasons why i feel i should be in :-

1) A regular at PG.... though my posts may not say so bcz i had registered last yr.... but i have returned to PG this season..........(didnt have net connection in my hostel last yr )


2) A PG Madcapz now, so i have a special liking for my PG.....


3) A CAT retaker....last yr i took CAT without much preparations...got 94.68%ile (had a prolonged illness b4 CAT )


5) Allways there to help friends in whatever way i can


4) With help from seniors like rik_12 and fellow puys who will take CAT this yr, i have started my preparations..........though my mocks scores keep fluctuating.........i believe all that is important is the D DAY...the CAT day and mocks are meant to be just like ladders....that help us to reach the peak on the CAT day.............even though i may not be consistently going up the ladder(sometimes even down)....but on the final day u'l see me at the summit

Hi..
Here is my self-nomination to be a part of the PG- UDT '09.
If Underdogs are those who jump out of nowhere taking everyone by surprise, yeah. I'm an Underdog.

From a below average kid who scored less than 60% in school exams, I managed to score >90% in 10th,
from an average student who took over an year to solve on his own a trigonometric question of reasonable difficulty, I managed to get a rank in the top 250 in the state engineering entrance exam taking everyone by surprise.

And here I am, going through a similar phase as before, finding it difficult to rise above the rest.
QA, VA, DI scared me till the beginning of this mock season. Hardly cleared any cut-offs till then. But hey, I cleared VA for the first time in two years in one of which my AIR was 30. 99.9%ile. Isn't this what we call Underdogism?

All I need is a little bit of something many of my fellow mates already have. I don't know what exactly that is. But allow me to be a part of the team, we will share our passion, we will work together and show the world what we are.

Why I should be in UDT'09:

• A guy who used to sleep 12 hours a day has turned a chronic insomniac because all he thinks about is to take a stroll in the Louis Kahn Plaza everyday, in a campus that is not more than 3km from his home.
• A guy who was indifferent to everything even remotely connected to an MBA till November last year, has a brainwave and decides to join PG in December.If PG has a GPS attached to my comp. they'll know I spend close to 17 hours on PG.
• Mock CAT scores have not been phenomenal, but consistent and can only get better.
• My girlfriend is close to breaking up with me because she thinks all I can discuss about these days is about an MBA,PG meets or anything else that is even remotely connected to PG or an MBA.
• Last and the most important.I am not shy in dreaming big.A wise man named Swami Vivekananda once said: Arise,awake and stop not till the goal is reached.I have arisen.I am awake.And the goal is well in sight.

Consistency,enthusiasm,philosophy and a truckload of insanity is what I will bring to this thread.

Clauses supporting my selecion:

1.) With an ordinary %ile of 92.81(qa-84,di-67,va-95) in CAT'08, have a strong motivation to realize my dream this time around.

2.)Being an 'underdog' in the QA and DI sections(as visible from my mocks) I am raring to bounce back and outperform these lagging sections of mine.

3.) A dreamer since time immemorial ,always wanted to be amongst the creme-de-la(read IIT's) but was not able to make it even after dropping a year for JEE,would now like to attain my nirvana by converting an IIM/top 10 B-school.

4.)Finally, an ardent worshipper of PG,to whom I owe all the knowledge/insights on MBA education and issues larger than just MBA in 2.5 years .Though am not a very regular poster on forums,but always try to share any insight I may have.

For Cat 2009 I am all out from every perspective to travel this journey and be where I want after it ends......
I have a long way to go..and I am prepared for it to give all I have till the goal is reached.

Working in software and slogging nearly 10-13 hrs daily at office...but this makes me even more determined to achieve my goal that is to get into IIMs..

I never give up believing in my abilities even if situations are not in my favour.....

Hello everyone out here....

I too nominate myself for the underdogs team.

Reasons are many and a few I could mention.

Though I am not a consistent high performer but no score seems ungettable to me. My mock scores have always been in the range 96-99...though i have brought about the best of me in cat 07...85.xx%ile...... cat 08...97.xx%ile.

In DI i have scored as low as 60%ile and quire a few times in 99%ile range....
But, still I believe that I have everything in me to surprise neone one the D day.

My score for this season has also been in the range of 97-98 except simcat1 where i got sm 99.7x%ile and a simcat rank of 30, but i nowhere felt that it was a stroke of luck or something. Indeed i believe that i could have managed more.

Not very encouraging signs this season too, but i am gonna make it count this time. Thats what i beleive will justify the definition of Underdog.

My best wishes to all the underdogs out here....
