irrespective of which institutes mock cat u take.. it is how u sit and analyse the paper afterwards is what really matters. if you are able to sit down and analyse each and everyquestion and learn something from the paper that is what is going to make the difference in your learning from the mock cat

also in general if a mock cat gives a score which is closer to real thing then it is good... the question is how do you know what is the real score in cat . after doing papers for sometime you should be able to judge for yourself the difficulty level of the paper and then while analysing see where you could a better score...

cat scores.. no one really knows there is always this funda that the best scores will vary each year.

try to be consistent in your performance

that is only because as more people write the cat, those above average will see their percentile go up and not down...

Does that mean if I am getting 97-98 %ile in MOCK AIMCATS , I will get 99+ %ile in the real thing. Somehow I doubt that.

you must not forget that the other mocks may be tougher than the mocks you are taking. Also, any slight variation in performance will see ranks jump (or plummet) by hundreds.

Since there are at least 4 big mock series, you may safely multiply your rank by four. To get good calls you must be in the top 400-500 in that (or a within 100 rank in your own mock)

PT and TIME offer their test series for guys ( n gals, to be politically correct ) who've already got decent ( 90+ ) percentiles in CAT in the previous years. Also, I think they are graded ( 50percent discount for 98+, 25 percent or so for 95 to 98 and so on )

Im personally joining CL & Roots TS.
Will also join PT/TIME ( depending on the offer they make me .. have a 99.65 last yr )

Congrats man finally that astounding percentile is finally paying off, you getting a discount of 50% Cheers . And it seems that since you are saving money on fees you are joining 4 tests series .

Anyways dudes and dudettes, moi take on the matter...
PT tests are VERY realistic and the all india rankings they give are very representative (at least that was my experience last year).
IMS's simcats are tough and may undermine ur confidence. At least last year's weren't that good.
Also, I liked PT's paper quality, nice and thick (yah, that's a determining factor).

With that said, try to solve as many papers as u can
...from ur own class, from some other class.
Take some tests with a pinch of salt, they may make u overconfident or may make you lose confidence.

Hmmm.....Mayb Anubhav is another stud from IIT who belled the cat in 3rd year of his enginnering and discovered that he wasnt eligible for IIMs...lol.... ...

Umm.... as i said, take things with loads of salt. Basically 4 100%ile scorers had enrolled for one or more of PT's tests (possibly even the singular free one) or joined coaching or just enrolled. They might as well have taken coaching elsewhere / taken no coaching / given other test papers (including non 100%ilers like me ).

I can say that from ahmedabad all 3 ppl who got to IIMA were involved with PT in some way or the other (eg. i gave their last 10 tests and then came to Delhi for their IIM call getters' meet for GD / PI interaction)
