Did experienced get more salries than that of fresher in IIM;s?

an experience of 22 months or more is generally considered as work experience for lateral placements in the IIM's... this is a rough figure and me too not sure abt the exact number of months. if u get thru in this attempt, then therez nothing like that....
if u want to get placed laterally, then go for an experience of 2 yrs and then take CAT.

well if u r gud enuf to get a lateral then u wud get a better pay package for sure. but if u dont get a lateral wat's the big deal if u r in an IIM...

well.......2yrs of work-ex now and again two years of coursework....4 in all... ..... u sure this is what should be of prime concern to u right now

very true...my friend Ritwik Ghosh from IIMC bagged the highest offer from CAP-1 and he was a fresher, tht too not from an IIT but from Jadavpur University...
its just tht u be amongst the toppers and a bit of luck...all concerns about getting good salaries will be gone....
but yes companies like CTS and the likes take in people in 2 diff grades..so if u join as an SBA u get more that if u join a rank lower as BA....
see urself thru to a IIM or XL and the likes and forget abt laterals....if u dont get into Tier1 then wait for 2 years and again sit for CAt....

I don't know about placements at other IIMs, but IIMB in 2004 had an average salary of Rs. 7 lakhs for all students and an average of Rs. 8.24 lakhs for its laterals. Quite a difference between the two.

I know one guy from IIMB...

with 3 yrs work ex from Infy and he is placed in Kanbay -Pune....for 7.2L PA...

i think a totals waste of time.....

he wasted 5 yrs for just 7.2L...

Anyway, as far as Ive heard, the thumb rule is you'd get 50K more for every year of experience you've got. Means that two guys, one fresher and other 2 yrs, in the same company after IIM would get x and x+1 lacs.
