IIM I waiting list...need help

hi guys/gals

there is some thing strange abt iim i waiting list
there r 90 seats in general...out of which first waiitng list was cleared till 43
n out of those 43 only 2 left.....seems like everyone was waiting to join iim i
what happened to all the stats...i think iim i guys don't believe in stats.
also they removed the admissions link long before the waiting list was cleared...n they r not giving any clear information.

plz those who were on the wait list n got the final call...and then finally are not joining IIM I ...plz...send me ur waiting number....as soon as possible..

i am still not convinced that some thing of this type can happen..

plz.....send ur replies as soon as possile..
that would be a gret help.

But to answer your question, the plausible explanation could be that most of the people who got the call through wait lists would have taken it.

This is because there was no signigicant movement in the A/B/C/L waitlists. L, quite shockingly this year, didnt even come out with a second list, let alone third. Since ABCL were filled in the first list itself, there was very little scope left for movement of I.

Last I read, waitlist 47 cleared. <not sure>. There are about 105 odd guys in the IIMI mailing list. Im not sure abt the rest. Anyway, if you are waiting, ATB!

What also happens sometimes is that institutes call a lot of guys in the first list. for example iimb had called 310 guys in its first list last year, out of which 206 joined. i, with a waiting list no. 14, could not make it. I guess IIML has done the same thing this time. IIM I had called 180 guys for the first 120. after that the waiting list cleared till 47. the surprise comes obviously becoz of IIML's not calling people.
another reason could be that iimi has contented itself with whatever number they have got, something like 112 or so, and have decided not to keep clearing the waiting list. just as iimb did last year with 206 instead of 210. but this last one is just a speculation.
