Well it depends on various factors like your performance in mocks, economic factor and what is your definition of good college etc.But you can the idea by having a look on the rankings

hi dere
well the quagmire of mediocrity has left me stranded. dese are my mock scores for dis year
AIMCATs 92-95 PERCENTILES
SIMCATs 93-95 PERCENTILES
never crossed 95 percentile imagine!!!
PROCMOCKS 94-99 PERCENTILES
My main dilemma is dis consistency of mediocricy. over d last two months i hven't been able to improve upon my mock scores. dese are same as ven i started 2 months back. now wid ony 20 odd days left for the D day, i m really perplexed as if how can i improve anything on dis stage. i m pretty sure abt only va & at dis time its a real pity. my main pro in both qa & di is dat i am plagued wid low attemptation. & for some strange reasons i really feelin hadicapped wid all those modern maths problems like permutations, probability etc. ofcourse nothing much can be changed in dese last few days, bt still i wud really appreciate if sumone can provide suggestions for some mild improvements.

u r quite consistent..wat u lack is confidence..u can do it on the only day that matters..ur scores dont really deserve the kind of panic that u seem to giving them.. stay calm, and back urself..

Well I have a Query....
Its clear that 98% students appearing for CAT don't get into IIMs.
Of course there are lot of other colleges which are good.
Please Give the Data as much as You can. Because I have filled application for all of these tests and institutes.
How am I supposed to know the expected cutoffs for.
IMT
MDI
IMI
NIRMA
NITIE
SPJAIN
IIFT Score for Delhi campus
IIFT Score for Kolkata campus
FMS Score
JMET Score for various IITs
SNAP Score for SIBM Pune
SNAP Score for SIBM Banglore.
XAT score for
XLRI Jamshedpur
XLRI Bhuvaneswar
And I still dont know Significance of MAT.
I am planing to give it Apr 2010
Will it help me to get admission this year
Which Good collages accept MAT score
Is Delhi University Dept of Commerce a Good collage?

SPJAIN: Min. 85 %ile required. Heavy emphasis on profile. A good %ile should be around 95
IIFT Score for Delhi campus

JMET Score for various IITs
SNAP Score for SIBM Pune
SNAP Score for SIBM Banglore.
XAT score for
XLRI Jamshedpur: 98+ %ile

And I still dont know Significance of MAT.

Thnx Avinav.
I read your tips and experience down there and got kidda inspired
My case is that, I resigned from my Job (14 month work ex) in sept to do MBA, which I always wanted to do. I have excellent high school record, and faired well in engineering entrance exam....Got good collage. But my engineering collage record is just above avg.....I got a Good placements through collage campus..decent salary but I did not like the work...So I decided to go For MBA...Now I am looking for any collage that I can get into (of course according to the MBA school ranking....). My score could be any where between 90 to you know sky is the limit...
thats why I wanted list.
My score in mock is some what like (correct/attempt/total)
QA (10-12)/14/25, DA (10-12)/14/25, VA (6-7)/10/25 or above
But VA is highly inconsistent.
I up till now I gave about 14 mocks and from today I started just a review for couple of days which I have done partially before of the wrong and unattempted Qs.
Will this help me
And which other collages I should look for to get into.

According to me, if you believe you can get 90+, you can very well get more than that as well. It's just the matter of preparing well enough till the day of CAT, and just a bit of luck as well. Scores don't tell the story, what matters is the %ile. You may be getting just 5 marks in one section but you may end up getting more than 90 %ile in that. It'll be a rarity, but it's possible nevertheless. There have been cases in JMET where the QA cutoffs were as low as 4-5 marks as the difficulty level in JMET is generally much higher.
VA is pretty difficult to judge as even most of the coaching instt. faculty are not sure of the answers. Thus, every year we see different VA keys issued by different institutes whereas we hardly see this in the case of QA and LR/DI. Of course you can improve your consistency in VA by practicing more, getting exposed to various types of questions, reading more RC passages etc. but as you might have read in my posts, despite getting more than 90-95 throughout the mock season, I ended up screwing my VA section in CAT So this is what I meant about luck playing its part. Of course, there are people who have scored very well in VA as well so I won't say that I was just done in by bad luck.
Regarding the colleges which you should apply to, look for all the top colleges. I'm quite sure you must've applied to those. Other than those, fill some backup institutes as well. You must be having a fair idea of the cutoffs by now and judge accordingly.

My preparation was going well for the last 4 or 5 months .I manages to get 90 percentiles starting from a meagre 65-70.But Suddendly on 25 Oct ,fate had its moment ,my senior resource went on vacation for his marriage (during a critical period of construction ) .I had to slog for 14-15 hours in office for almost 20 days continuously. No mocks,no analysis(did not even solve a single question ).Now he has returned ,i am relatively free .But i feel dejected and out of touch now, only with the happiness of having sucessfully handled the challenge that my profession had threw at me ...Puys i defnitely need ur help as what to do in the coming days with IIFT also around ...
