i have th hugest question..a friend of mine JUST told me tht th iims are gonna have a 50 percent reservation thing..IS IT TRUE?

i tried to keep myself in th dark so far (purposely,cuz thers no point botherin bout what i cant change)..but now tht ive heard bout this..id really like to know..

how many seats are th general quota people getting this year??
smone pleeeease reply asap...been scannin th net..cant find anything concrete...

As far as i know, the number of seats for the general category will stay the same. The reservation policy will be implemented by increasing the overall intake of the IIMs. As an example, IIM C this year took 408 students and will increase that number to 450-460 next year but the number of seats for the general category will stay the same

currently, about 60% of the seats are for general category candidates.. you can do the math

There are 408 seats in IIM C, 351 in IIM B, about 310 in IIM A, about 350 in IIM L, about 270 in IIM K.. not sure but i think around 250 in IIM I

and last thing..appx hw many ppl they gonna shortlist for th group discussions n interviews n stuff?..assumin there are about 1050 seats in all for th general category ppl..they shud call bout 2000 to 2500 general ppl or so ryt?cuz ppl get multiple calls n stuff?

i dont know if this is the appropriate thread for this query. bt actually i wanted to know which other colleges are really good under cat apart from iims & the top ones in the bracket like mdi, imt, etc.considering real high costs of application forms, it would really be extremely helpful if anyone can suggest me a list of good colleges where one should apply.
