System Requirements
Operating System: Windows 2000 or above or Linux
RAM: 512 MB or more
Browser: IE 6.0, 7.0 and above or Mozilla 2.0 or above
Flash player for result analysis
Internet Speed: 128 kbps or above
Instructions:
1. Disable pop-up blocker in the browser
2. Log on to your Student Home Page at
T.I.M.E. challenge
3. Click on “My Tests” link
4. The tests page (similar to the screen shot below) will load.

5. At the top, there are four tabs “Invigilated AIMCAT”, ”Online AIMCAT”, “Practice
Comprehension AIMCAT” and “Sectional test”. The tab “Invigilated AIMCAT” will be
highlighted initially.
6. Do not select other tabs.
7. All the tests that are to be taken and already taken will be displayed.
8. The tests that are to be taken have a status “Available”. The tests that are already taken have a
status “Available for Review”.
9. Click on the status. The instructions for the test will be displayed. At the end of the
instructions (see the screen shot below), you have to enter the access code (will be provided at
the examination centre). Then press start. The test will start in a new window.
Note: If the access code is incorrect, an error message will be displayed. Contact the
invigilator.
How to take the test?
1. The test page consists of the following:
a. “Section” bar: The Shaded bar at the top shows the number of sections in the test. The section
that is being answered currently is highlighted. When the test loads initially, Section I is
highlighted.

b. “Question List” Panel: The panel on the left shows the number of questions in the section. All
the question numbers may not be visible on the screen. You may have to use the scroll bar
(located to the right of the question list panel) and move up and down to find a particular
question.

c. “Main” Panel: Clicking on a question number in the left panel loads the question in the main
panel. If the question is big, you may have to use the scroll bar (located to the right of the
main panel) and move up and down to view the whole question and answer choices.
d. “Next” button: Clicking on this will take you to the next question.

e. “Back” button: Clicking on this will take you to the previous question.
f. “Bookmark” button: If you want to review a particular question later, then click on this
button. This will place a purple mark on the question number in the “Question list” panel.
This will help you identify the questions you want to review.
i. Clicking on the button again will remove the bookmark. You can use this when you no longer
want to review the question.

g. “Submit test” button: When you have finished and want to submit the test, click on this
button.
Note: Do not close the browser window during the test.
2. How to take the test:
a. Selecting a question: Choose the section you want to answer from the “Section Bar”. Choose
the question from the “Question list” panel. The question will be displayed in the “Main”
panel.
b. Answering the question: The choices are located below the question. Select your choice by
clicking on the appropriate radio button (a small circle located on the left of the answer
choice). When you click on the radio button, a blue dot will appear inside the radio button and
a dotted square appears around the radio button.

c. Changing an answer: If you want to change your answer, click on the radio button next to
your new answer. The blue dot and the dotted square shift from the old radio button (next to
your old answer) to the new radio button.
d. Clearing an answer: If you have answered a question, but do not wish to answer it later, you
can clear the answer by pressing the clear button.
e. Saving your answer: As soon as you move to another question, your answer to the current
question is saved.
f. Moving to the another question:
i. Moving to the next question: You can go to the next question by clicking the “Next”
button.
ii. Moving to the previous question: You can go to the previous question by clicking the
“Back” button.
iii. Moving to another question: You can go to any other question (refer point “a”)
3. Important points to remember
a. If there is a power failure, computer shut down, internet disconnection, browser closes or any
other event, there is no need to panic. Your test has been saved and you can resume it any
time.
