Hi puys,

i want to decide between IIT B and IIT D.
Points in favor of IIT B
- better reputation
- located in mumbai, better placement oppurtunities

Points in Favor of IIT D
- MUCH less fees
- very decent, almost comparable( to IIT B) placements this yr( i dono if this yr being an abnormal yr due to recession may have levelled the differences in placements)
- located in NCR- IT consulting hub

Comparison of B-Schools is strictly not allowed on PG...and you go ahead and open a thread straight away!
no worries..I doubt anyone would answer you here..so I suggest you go the threads of both these colleges and see if people have double calls..then PM them asking which one they are choosing and why..don't post again, only PM!!!

Many of us including me and you are going through the same dilemma. Mainly the factors to consider are pretty much the same as you have listed.
So it can only be that we assign weightages to these factors based on our priority, constraints and comfort and then arrive at a decision.
But I think this thread is important and good that you have started it. I hope to see many more guys come up with their opinions.

Moderators please dont close this thread since this is not just another comparison thread, the purpose here is to evaluate certain criteria which we use to choose a B school and to share those points with others so that the thought process is reviewed and new ideas shared.
I am pretty sure that the thread will move in a controlled and sensible manner so plz dont close it.

does anybody know how much iit b ppl will keep if we withdraw from the programme?
for iit d i think its 1000+12000(some mgmt commitee fees??)

IITB will cut Rs. 1000 and return rest
