how to improve communication skills

hi
i gave cat-2003. scored 97.20. got calls frm mdi, mica, sibm, etc. cud not convert any of them.
how to prepare for gd/pi along with written frm now on?

Dig out the IIM GD/PI experiences threads in this same section and go thru them.

There are two things to it: content to speak and the fluency with the language.

For the contents, as mentioned above, just find the interview experiences thread and go through them... you'd get a fair picture of what you can expect. Rest is about the being cool etc, which is entirely in your hand.

Abt the fluency, I guess there is no easy way out. Speak to as many people as possible... make use of co-workers if you are employed, read a lot of good books etc.

All said, Im inclined to believe that content would take you miles but fluency just adds the final polish. ATB.

GOVAR pointed out the important points that should be stressed to improve communication skills. these are all very essential.i would like to add another to the list. critical reasoning.
communication skills also depend upon the ability to analyse a situation and form views quickly. if one is not sure how to handle a given situation then fluency and background knowledge will not take him/her very far.
how to improve critical reasoning? well, from comminucation skill point of view, forming a concrete opinion about things happenning around us can go a long way. we should have our personal opinions about events. we should know why we have these opinions and we should be able to justify our opinions. all this requires that one debates with oneself the pros and cons which in-turn requires critical reasoning.
