some news for the waitlisted candidates:
i had called up the tapmi office yesterday and asked about the waitlist movement. The lady told me that the last day for the payment of fees for the selected candidates is 20th may,09!!!!!!( god knows why so late...). she also told me that 120 candidates ve been waitlisted. Plus if u tell her ur tapmi Reg no...u can get to know ur WL status...she wont tell u the exact no..but u can get to know whether ur in top 40, top50 and like dis...

Me too selected.Not at all expected since I had a horrible Stress Interview. Maybe a fantastic Gd and a great essay saw me through. However I wont be joining. So the WL-1 guy can be sure of converting . Best of luck to all planning to join.

Yes, You cannot stay outside hostel without permission (which means night-out option is out coz you don't get permission)... There is a perm-time of 11:30 PM and you have to be inside campus by then. (else big trouble ...). It might sound weird at first (especially for all the IT guys out there) but that is how it is here.

TAPMI is pretty strict about these things (atleast as of now). And believe me, things are pretty much relaxed compared to our previous batches

Hi Krish,,

1. Tentative day - 3rd July (1st week of july for sure )
2. you can major in marketing, finance, systems, operations, HR. you have more than 120 credits to choose from and you need to take 33 credits as electives. 16+ credits will be considered as major and 10+ minor. So it is theoretically possible to have a dual major.
3. In the new campus, 2-wheeler is NOT required unless you want to go to manipal. Also there are talks going to make the campus a vehicle free zone. So expect some mode of transport to be made available by college to go to manipal.
4. loan details are attached in your confirmation letter.
5. mobile coverage is not bad but inside hostels it is pathetic. student offers are fantastic. anyways you won't have to bother about mobiles once you land here .

To add to the list of Queries posted by Krishnan, I wanted to know how u guys arranged for the laptops... Is it advisable to purchase it at the campus or outside?? If Campus then what r the advantages??

3. I personally feel the need for a 2 wheeler as i enjoy the freedom it gives u to visit places at ur own leasure... are there any cases of seniors selling their bikes to the juniors??? I know the probability is less considering the campus shift took place this academic year...

do they allow to go out during the weekends?? atleast by saying tat u're going home or somethin??

depends on where you go. but I don't think you will want to go outside manipal on weekends once you are here. there are too many places to see and chill out in manipal.

anyways there is one person in our batch from shimoga (120Km from here) who visits his hometown most of the weekends. getting permission for proper reasons is not impossible.
