i had my interview on 3rd april 9 o clock slot at IIM B

GD/Case study :
There are 24 students called for each slot i guess.19 people turned up.They started at sharp 9,splitted us into 2 groups.10 in grp 1 and 9 in grp 2.I was in grp 2.
we were taken into 2 diferent rooms,the panel was same for the GD and the interview for me.after the GD they devided the grp into 3 parts ,i stayed with the same panel.
It was a case study.We were given 5 minutes to read the case,15 min to discuss and 5 min to write the summery.
The case was about a commerce graduate called Prabhakar.He has a manufacturing company JMI in Bhuvenashwar and he looks after the money matters while his 2 brothers look after the customer and the employees.Over the years they have done biz only with 2 companies which are TMC (tamilnadu manufacturing company) and defence out of which they did more biz with TMC.There product quality was low earlier n was rated 50 on the scale of 100 by TMC bt later they improved n rated 100.
The demand from TMC is falling and the biz with defence is also drying up.He has taken a loan from some Mr.Savant and he is also now pressing him to pay back the loan of 2 lakhs.He might get a good contract from a new company bt that will take another 8 months.He came in to manufacturing biz against the will of his family so family is also not supporting.In d same area few other companies also turned sick n went out of biz.
What prabhakar should do in such a situation?
pretty weird case,nothing much to discuss. we were 9 ppl there- 3 girls and 6 boys.one guy started.wasnt a good start.. girl picked.was good.. i spoke third.
i entered the discussion around 4 times and gave 4 different
ideas.it was peaceful GD.no cross talks,no cutting each other ,no fish market,
In the start only they specified that the summery shudnt b bullet points but should be in paragraph format.
PI: I must say puys frightened me to the core bt actually the PI wasnt too bad.. in fact i liked it a lot.
i was 5th out of 6 candidates for the interview in that panel.waited around 2 n half hrs before my turn came.
every interview was on avg 30-40 min.mine was also arnd 35 min.Other panels were strict & were grilling a lot on technical stuff.My panel was cool,friendly and cordial luckily.
There are 3 prof .one was from IIM B (B1) , and 2 were from shillong,one old (S1) and one young (S2). and me.
(B1) : so you are an engineer?
me: yeah (i thought he said it sarcastically.. may b not.. who cares
)
(B1) : which kind of eng are u? (again sarcasm
)
me : electrical engg
(B1) : from where?
me:MNNIT allahabad
(B1) : we have a colleague of urs here.
me: i said yeah (took his name)

(B1): temme what is the difference b/w OCB n ACB
me : it took me few seconds to recall wht is OCB (prof ke zamane mein use karte honge) .still told 3 differences.satisfied.
(B1):we also have MCBs ,what type of breaker is it?
me:told
(B1):i now stay in india bt i stayed in US,temme why they use different voltage there than india. (trying to show off ,eh ?)
me:i dont kno sir
(B1):asked abt star and delta connection,why and wr we use them,which law they follow.
me:told
(B1):what all transmission losses r there?
me: (totally blank) .started giving funda which was wrong bt i corrected it soon,he gave a smile. (nice fellow )
(B1):y the voltage are alwaz 110,220,440 . why not 100,200 etc

tried to grill me more on it. bt was ok.
now he turned to other profs to grill me.
(S1): if u have to design a website for ur company,how would u design it.
me: told some funda (he was nodding intermittantly as i was talking)

k tell us the recipe of any thing which is your favourite to cook. (i wrote my hobby as cooking)
me:told.he seemed bored (may b he knew himself,stopped me in between)

looked at the 3rd prof n handed me over to him.

me:told abt the project,y we were sent n how long (prof B1 looked interested n asked where were i in US)
(S2):how do u judge your performance in GD?
me:i said i was good.justified that. (i was actually good

(S2):you have talked abt tecruitment in your form,temme what do u look for in a candidate while interviewing him.
me:told.he was counting on his fingers whatever i was telling.and nodding simultaneously.
(S2):what do you think we look in the candidates for IIM S interview.
me:told. gave the funda.. all 3 profs gazing at me. at other times the prof B1 was burried in his papers after he was done with me.
(S2):why we should not take u for IIM S?
me:gave some more funda
(S2):temme wt was the sensex yday,the exact figure.
me:i said dunno,i kno tht it has increased by some 300 points today,bt no exact figure.
he smiled.. in fact the prof S2 was very friendly and assuring ,as he was nodding when i was talking.
(S2):i see that you had accounts and financial management as ur optional,tell something abt accounting.
me:told abt balance sheet ,profit n loss account,ledger ,journal etc.
(S2):asked more on balance sheet ,y its called balancesheet,how it is different from P L account n abt the entries made.
me:told (looked satisfied)
(S2):what more do u rem'ber from the subject.. i nodded in negative .He continued ,hav u heard about break even point.
me:i was happy to hear tht coz i knew... i told.. <yay>
(S2):what is better : low BE point or high BE point.
me:told and explained. (seemed satiesfied)
