This is Anurag Gupta.I am a 1st year student of MBA here at MNNIT Allahabad.Most of the people are not aware of the fact that National Institute of Technology , Allahabad also has a MBA program also with a fully dedicated faculty and infrastructure.I belong to kanpur and most of the people here in the Northern side of India know about it.

With this post I want to tell you all about my college.

Total No of Seats : 80 (Last year they were 60)
Course : MBA (you can choose two specializations from Finance,HR,Marketing,Operations,Systems & IB)

All Permanent faculty members are PHD's with ample of reserach papers and experience.You can have a look at the offcial college website.I will provide tyhe link.

Placement is 100% for the past many a years.100% for BTech,MBA & MCA.
This year 60% of the seniour batch is already placed.In our batch all have got summer trainings but for only 8.For the official placement report you can visit the website.

Fees : is only Rs.25,000 Approx per semester with total of around 1 Lac for whole MBA.
Hostel fees is 1300 per semester and mess fees is 7000 .You get 24x7 Internet and LAN connectivity in hostel too.DC++ rules here.

Events like Avishkar(National Level techfest),Gnosiomania(National level Quiz Fest),Culrav(National Level cultural fest) are absolutely fantabulous. The Closing ceremony of Culrav 2009 is tonight.This year it happened from 18 to 21st of Feb.

One gets ample of opportunities here to show his talent. You can have the list of Visiting faculties at the website.I suggest you all to make a thorough research of all the colleges you intend to apply after CAT.

Last year Cat cut off : around 80 %tile for Gen students( offcial cut off's are not told to anyone).I had 79.47%tile.

Last Date to apply : March 9, 2009.Admission through CAT only.

Last year there was no OBC quota...This year it will be a new thing .This is the very reason for the increase of seats from 60 to 80...You can expect a call at around 75%tile I guess...No idea for SC n ST....:confused:

Kudos for your initiative.Could you please tell me the placement statistics like average salary, maximum salary, minimum salary for the last passed out batch.
i could not find them in the website.

Dude the highest Last year was 4.5 and the lowest 2.8...You do get a decent job here and that's the USP..One more thing, If you have talent then you will have the companies waiting for you here.There is the same training and placement cell for the BTech,MBA & MCA..Companies who do visit look at all the courses..To be frank if you are looking for a prepared Tandoori Chikan like you get in some of the colleges that take half you father's income then you better go somewhere else.

Here at MNNIT rigorous curriculam is there with ample of evets to groom one's personality.Last year our Team of MBA students won the first prize of GK quiz ate Antragni,IIT kanpur..Mark my words,If you want to do things this can be the best place around but if you think that MBA is all about getting a good percentile in CAT then forget it..

Management Studies

Look at the above link.There have been placements of 12 Lac CTC back in 2006..Its not all about Placements ..Being a part of such a reputed institute in itself is a very great feeling..Our institute MNNIT has a cultural committee as well as a tech one too...This year we are planning to create our own Cultural Committees for MBA students..Any one can come and have a look at the infrastructure of National Institute of Technology , Allahabad ..

Yesterday we had a lecture with the owner of CreADivity.com Mr.Sitashwa Srivastava.He is a young entrepreneur and we had a gr8 time hearing him.He is a Great Lakes institute of Mgmt graduate and is running his own website.Kudos to you Sitashwa...!!!

rIGHT NOW our seniour batch is on a Indutrial Tour of Gujarat and Rajasthan.They will go in companies like NEI Bearings and Amul.Will regularly apdate you all about the events @ NIT Allahabad.Cheers..

HISTORY
The Management Program of our institute was started in 1996.At the start the admission was through a autonomous entrance examination.When MNNIT was known as MNR the degree of MBA was given by MONIRBA , Allahabad..But after it became National Institute of Technology ,a deemed University, the MBA degree is given by NIT itself.

Facilities

You have a totally dedicated faculty for MBA which is in my point is the strength of our college.Its just a privilege to learn from them.24*7 Internet facility is there in hotel as well.You get everything that needed.There is a Student Activity CELL(SAC)..Please elaborate on what you want to know.

Quality

This is difficult to answer..What does quality mean for you..It can be placements, infra, faculty...FOr me its a Quality institute..When you are talking about NIT you are talking about national Institute of Technology...I said this in my previous post too...If you have the courage to do something you will do great here...Many people don't know about NIT and thts the reason why I choose to open this thread..Please tell me your definition of QuALITY..i WILL try to answer surely..

Hi Anurag Sir, can u plz. share ur gd/pi experience n give me some tips 4 gd/pi.It would be great if u could share what kind of topics came in gd last year. Do u have any idea what's the weightage given to gd/pi , profile n cat scores.
