The previous year's thread was of immense use to me. I got a final convert from IIM-C & K and NITIE-PGDITM. Would be joining IIMC and would like to be of help to this year's aspirants in any way I can.
One thing I'd like to mention to SC/ST aspirants is that please apply for NITIE whenever you fill up the forms. IIMs are gr8 and its wonderful if you get through, but in case something goes wrong on the C-Day, then there would be NITIE as an option coz cut-offs have gone quite low as compared to the IIMs, but its a very good college nevertheless.

for the 09 Reserved category Aspirants i m posting the list of institutes.
those hav reservation for SC/ST & OBCs....
1) All IIMs
2) FMS (Both Programme)
3) IIFT
4) All IITs (But Only Engineers can apply)
5) NITIE
6) All Symbiosis Institutes (Only For SC/ST ,No reservation for OBCs)
7) JBIMS (85% for Maharashtrian with all vertical reservation & rest 15% for other state "General" students )
8 ) TISS
9) NPTI (Power management)
10) IIFM
11) DSE for MIB/MHROD
12) MFC (D.U.)
13) FMS-BHU
14) MBA offered by Different State universities like Lucknow,punjab etc
& those don hav reservations are:
1) XLRI (some seats are reserved for Orissa domicile only)
2) MDI
3) IMT
4) SP JAIN
5) Narsee mounji (some seats are reserved for Gujrati speaking ppls)
6) IMI
7) ISB,Hyderabad
this list is not exhaustive one

Hi,
This Kartika.. I belong to SC category.. Im 2008 Btech passout..Im working with Accenture from past one year.. Initially I neva planned to give CAT.. but just gave it for fun in 07 and got IIM B gd/pi call.. cudnt convert it becos of the %ile.. I gave CAT 08 but screwed up on Quant completely.. Got TISS call and converted it.. but Im gearing up for CAT 09 as I want to make it into IIM B only.. 
Please share useful info and lets all carck this year's cat

Hi i gave CAT last yr.............
Lost in Quant..............  got only 25 pecentile in dat 
hence ,entire percentile down wid it
So need help in dat.........
Does any1 have good site for quant
I solved Arun Sharma Last yr.............
Plz provide feedback

work on the basics... try to understand the concepts...forget abt tricks n shortcuts they dont work... arun sharma is a good book... solve it again...
anyway by now u must have the idea which area is ur strength and which is ur weakness... first master the weakness... and keep working on strengths as well

hi puys
me gave CAT last year..i had scored 83.3%ile with just 62%ile in quants and had a rank of 5584 in JMET...had calls from all IITs as well as NITIE...i converted NITIE PGDISEM,VGSOM and IITM. I wont be joining any institute this year..ill b working for an NGO and gaining some exp along with preparations for CAT-09
Guys as anand has advised its good if u fill NITIE(its only for engineers) bfore CAT..cutoffs this year for SC was arnd 75%ile and for STs i guess it must have been about 70%ile..
Hope 2 b in an IIM next year...so puys lets help each other n hopefully with some hard work n determination b batchmates in IIMs next year..ATB

what do u mean by further admission process..dint get u??? 
if u mean what u need 2 do next to secure your admission then u need 2 fill the required draft and send it to IITK..the amount u can confirm from the institute..ur admission is then secured
