I am planning to write CAT in 2010, how much time can a working person realistically devote to preparation ... can it ever be enough ... is it better to study thru some online resources... or is joining a coaching institute a must ...

If you consider starting preps from 6 months before CAT, then I guess around 3 hrs a day should be enough. However, it all depends on your personal abilities.

I am working too and have taken CAT 09 this time. I did not get much time to prepare for it but it went decent nonetheless. My strategy is to utilize time when you have it. I often read or solve some math ques in lunch hour at work. Apart from that I hardly get time at home after work (or if I do get then I am dead tired to study).

Think less, work more. CAT is not unbeatable.

Life is B-E-autiful!!!

CAT 08: 80.xx%ile

CAT 09: 88.47 %ile

Calls 09: TAPMI, KJ SOMAIYA

There is some new concept that I have heard about ... its a website that builds vocabulary using cartoons...i think its specially important for fms aspirants like me .. as they have direct vocab based questions ... i have done the trial course which is only for Rs 100.. seems like worth it ... you could also try it out...though would like some feedback from someone who has joined it before buying the full course... the website is called vocabmagik ...
