Good/ Bad News ?
Today Arjun Singh the new HRD Minister stated to the press that full autonomy would be granted to institute of excellence in higher education. So we can conclude that there would be no fee slashes and no autonomy problem at IIMs and IIT's , !!!!!!!

i think this piece of information will clear anyones doubts....
So what happened to the plan of attack? Mr Singh did indicate that all decisions of the HRD ministry”would be looked into properly”. Will there be a rollback in the fee cut? No answer from the new HRD minister. But, he leaves you with a clue. “There were many aberrations in various areas of working of the last government (HRD ministry, perhaps more than others). The basic approach of the NDA government was ad hocism. (They were guided by) what they could personally make out of a situation, which is not in national interest. That is why many of the steps have come unstuck.” Indicating perhaps that the fee cut at the IIMs by 80%, from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 30,000 was an example of personally motivated ad hocism of the previous government.
Hi guys....
as per my info....IIM's are collecting same org fee...no deductions so far...they'd said tht they return the excess amt with interest as per SBI rates if at all fee will be deducted...so lets keep our fingers crossed and wait....
