Hello everyone..

Here i am starting the official thread for addressing queries and carrying on related discussion for 2009 admissions. All aspirants are being requested to post all their concerns here instead of starting new thread so that with time we build up archieve of queries with others may find useful later and hence we can avoid responding to same queries time and again..
now that CAT is over ..everyone would be waiting for results and would also have queries to be answered, so go ahead post your queries and we all are here to answer them ASAP..

Hii anup..

i think you must be aware that Praxis had it first batch last year..so the placements of the first batch will happen this year only...

Regarding Placements, Finals placements have alreayd started but as offcial placment week has not yet started we can give you an final picture once it has been done..for the time being you can have a look at out website for Summers Placements which was quite impressive(details available on college website) for a new B-school..

Regarding campus ..it located in kolkata off diamond harbour road ina peacful enviornment with all necessary facilities provided, faculty are pillars of institute and we best of them, we have guest faculty from best of institutions india and best of the corporate leaders to guide us..

there is no Fixed cut-off for CAT/XAT, it depends upon the applications that hav been received..scoring an 85+ will place you in safe Zone for next round...

Yes. work-ex do plays an important part n selection procedure but having an work ex is not sufficient enough, your work ex should reflect in all queries that the admission team needs from you...

Well My brother in law who is a pass out from XIMB 96 batch is a great fan of Mr. Srinivas Govindrajan (Dean)...and he suggested that though Praxis is a new institute, it surely would turn up into a good institute in the near future....

So, now as I am planning to go ahead for an MBA ...I thought of applying to Praxis. But before that, I have few questions that you people can best answer:
1. How is Praxis shaping up?
2. Faculty looks impressive...but what is your take?
3. In the context of this financial turmoil...how is Praxis set to face it?
4. Facilities...not much details on the web site.
5. I have GMAT score of 660. I have 6 years work ex in IT. B.Tech from N.I.T. Do I match with Praxis expectations?

Hope I am no asking toomany questions....but answers would surely be appreciated...

Sorry for much delay in answering your queries..actually there was end term break so could not answer..

Regarding your Queries i will answer them one by one..

1. It has been two years since this institute has started and it has able to make quite a good name in industry and have been able to impress industry..fact cab be varified from last year summers placement record and feedback and our performance in various national level event..also from the fact that praxis have been already being considered top notch school making it to the list of selected B-Schools who are invited for various programs..

2. Praxis has always concentrated on good Faculty and is very selective in recruiting the same... you can have a detailed view of faculty in our college website... full time as well as guests.. all i can say is the faculty is best in their field which is justified from their career and position and reputation in respective industry.

3.Yes Financial Turnmoil is effecting everyone and so is with praxis also.. but our Placment dept has decided not to compromise in terms of quality of placements and profile and is trying hard enough to fulfill it and that is the single reason why it's taking time to get the placments over..else there is no shortage of bad profiles or very low salary being offered..

4. It's a Fully residential B-School and all the Facilities you need in such an situation and availble here to mention few..games,medical, transportation, round the clock libaray and canteen etc.. to have a full lokk at facilities it would be better to vivit the camous once or shoot specific queries..

5. Your Score and Experiance are Quite good enough to fetch you a gd/pi call but all depends upon the admissions dept which sorts out the application and after fetching Gd/PI call all depends upon on your performance there and not on score..
