I have 83.45 percentile in XAT. I am a fresher. Do i stand a chance to get a call? What is the weightage given to acad background and such other factors. I do have good extra curriculars.

hi pooja,
while percentile forms an important criterion for a call, its not the only one! a consistent academic record backed by a good extracurricular track record and work-experience(if any) are also a part of the consideration set.

in your case, if ur extracurricular background is impressive, it will surely lend credibility to your chances of fetching a gd/pi call.

also, being a fresher is not a palpable disadvantage.the batches of praxis have a fine mix of students who are freshers and students who have quality work-ex. we do regard freshers with a good profile as they have their own set of qualities;the ability to think independently and hence contribute with innovative and fresh ideas, being the most important(as they dont carry the bagage of work-ex and hence a set of protocols as solutions for certain scenarios with them).

hence dont undermine ur chances.....u do certainly have a chance of a gd/pi call provided ur profile does seem good to the people who ultimately matter!

My friend bonjour have already replied to your queries...

I just wanted to re-confirm that yes the admission process for Praxis is still on with last cycles remaining, for any details you can always visit college website as mentioned by @bbonjour.

Regarding you Percentile being good enough, if you look back into post of this thread i have always said praxis doesn't have any set cut-off for perticular year since it believes that a set cut-off does'nt ensure a good quality student. All the students who apply to Praxis are given GD/PI calls based on their profile which includes are competitive tests scores, acad scores, extra curriculars participation and work-ex if any.Now if you get an GD/PI call all you have to prove that the admission dept. was fair enough to believe that you have the right apitite for te course by way of your performance in the rounds.

Regarding Work-ex, yes work-ex do holds importance as it gives exposure to Coporate way of working and problems and learning from their could be used while going though course but at the same time not having an work-ex does not put you at an disadvantage to others as you can very well have the knowledge of corporate with your learning as its in away helps in collaborative learning as your perceptions of corporate and reality can very well help in forming dimensions..so don't think it's a disadvantage not having an work-ex.

As far as scholarships are concerned Praxis does not offer scholership for a fixed few or compulsory few each year....

Instead Praxis has an philosophy of helping all the needful students in a way they need to be...like helping those wo need assiatnce in procuring education loan..helping few students in meeting their monthly expences....and in most cases their to involves students in activities that boosts their knowledge and skill power as in previous batches some students were offered intership in college in various ways to meet their monthly expences.

Hello Surya,

Above quoted sentence is true. Sinc eit's establishment praxis has not made itself affiliated to AICTE or university, now the reason for it being so is that Praxis beliefs in Industry ready professional and for that u need to be regularly and timely updated and that meand regular updated and changes in course structure and curriculum and if one affiliated to above one has to follow a set design of structure to be followed and a set way of teaching to be imparted upon which would conflict with the very objective...

now that i ahave mentioned the reasona let me go ahead and also brief you on new developments in the above scenario. AICTE has some ruled modified to suit institutions like Praxis (if u take alook around you will find most of the new b-school who looks promising follow this model of learning) but its yet to be confirmed. Praxis has already applied for the same and if things work out fine by the time next batch comes it would be affiliated.
