As to the answer mentioning short term gains , a country's policies are those determined by its leaders.
I'd love to believe this...but again..i'd hate to be betrayed by IIM keys on9th jan..so...i suppose my marked answer is wrong...net score is still 37... :( with 4-5 questions hanging in the grand canyon.... :( lets see... m not expecting any calls now

That is s a very pragmatic approach, no doubt.
For me, most of the questions which are now under discussion , are fetching me a -1 according to the coaching institutes.

In my opinion, 45 would not be a bad score in this kind of VA...

For next years aspirants: Learn from this, don't try to emulate a strategy that worked before... and don't read too much into the Mocks they might be just fixating you on that very strategy... which might bounce back on D-day!

Sorry for the long post.
I totally agree wid u......i hav been telling this continuously to my friends that this VA paper was by no means easy and why all coaching junta are claiming it to be a welcome relief........
Though i m an engineer, my english is not bad and i cleared aimcat cutoffs 15 times out of 20 aimcats and all cleared with 90+ percentile........when i attempted the eu section, i was finding ot very very challenging and a tought nut to crack...akay i agree that i attempted only 2 RC's (which i discovered that it had quality english even above aimcat standards and question choices were also close) and addition of one more RC would have added atlleast 10-15 marks to my scores but that can be only wishful thinking bcozzz lot of people would have thought to maximize their attempts and turned to grammar and vocab part....and they were very tough as we know realize that many of them are still debatable as to most pertinent choice.......in nutshell, i wont be surprised to see 85 percentile at 32-33 marks considering last year people got some 93-94 percentile at 26-27 marks......

one more thing, since both QA and DI were tough, many students would hav liked to giv some extra time to these sections in order to clear the cutoffs in these sections and consequently not able to giv more time to eu......

anyways, we will come to know abt it on 9th jan...

The questions in RC which are still in doubt-
1. Rwanda Haiti one
2. Evidence one
3. Cause not mentioned in passage (Now...This should have been solved by now)
4. Fossil

Any other question under scrutiny?? Everyone who marked a question wud have marked it after some thought...we are getting to see and will get to see what the various perspectives were.

This year VA was wordy and probably suited guys who are good at vocab and basics of grammar. In previous years, critical reasoning was more important..So a guy not that good in usage and vocabulary could get into IIMs.

Well for Round, As stated by someone else too, the "IT" in come aorund to admitting it makes it wrong as unspecified pronoun without prior reference.

Also for run the book enjoying a popular run is wrong usage as per my knowledge.

Dont Groan at this post plz.

Would love to agree with you(will get +5 for it)...but round ka usage has been shown time and again with some links here...showing IT in then also....it can be possible that they have simply taken a line and put it here as a question. right from the middle of a para... they are known to do this wid para completion things nd para jumbles...so why not word usage??

Run...mine's wrong that i know...but again...all of them seem to be gramattically correct as movie is enjoying a popular run has been shown in many links and posts...so...still there's some doubt..
PS:- I thanked..
