If the committee wish to invite you for GD/PI based on your profile/application form they can invite you in Jan 09 otherwise you will be considered for Feb09 process. We look for qualitative aspects in your applications and accordingly your GD/PI call can come. There is no harm in sending the application early.

2) Out of your two test, we will give you fair chance and your best performance will be considered for merit list.

3) Yes, you can choose the electives as per your choice. In currrent batch many students have taken dual specilization or pure-specilalization.

4) Pune is a moderate expense city. You can spend around Rs. 5000/- per month to live a quality student life.

Hi Sir/Mam,

thanks for all the replies, could you also tell me :

* So to avoid confusion as per your reply no.1, will I stand an equal chance if i apply in 2nd round ? (regarding no. of seats as i can understand the results for both the rounds will be compiled into single merit list) ?

* And as i mentioned for 2 specializations, shall I tick the two specializations in application form ?

reply soon

thanks.

Hi Ravi!

Yes ! you are right even if you apply in the second round you stand the equal chance of selection.

You can tick d two specializations in your application, however, we provide students flexibity to choose their electives hence you should not bother about them too much at this stage.

Best of Luck!

Re: [2008] Ask Europe Asia Business School, Pune: Official Admission Query Thread - 11-12-2008, 03:05 PM

There were queries from prospective students regarding the structure of PGPBT programme. What is Business Transformation stands for and what is business transformation analyst.

We have invited Dr Sanjiv Vaidya, Professor of MIS at EABS (previously worked with IIMC for 18 years) to throw light on the concept of Business Transformation.

What is a Business Transformation Analyst (BTA)?
A Business Transformation Analyst (BTA) is one who can meaningfully assist senior managers or consultants in analyzing, evaluating & diagnosing a business situation, suggesting remedial measures and implementing the same.

We acknowledge that development of this capability requires a very wide range of issues to be addressed. Hence, and considering the strength of Zensar Technologies in providing high quality IT services to corporate, we have focused on developing students who would be particularly trained in addressing IT-enabled business transformation. To sharpen the focus further, the programme lays an additional emphasis on three highly information intensive industry sectors – IT-services, Retail and Financial Services. Thus our students not only are groomed in planning and implementing IT enabled business transformation but also possess good domain knowledge of at least one of these three sectors.

Why does the Industry Need a BTA?
It has been observed by both user organizations and the IT–services industry that IT users are often not fully satisfied with their IT investments and applications. This is often referred to the business-IT gap. The industry needs knowledge workers who can suggest and implement measures to prevent/minimize such gaps in the visioning, planning and implementing of IT deployment. A BTA is equipped with the knowledge of relevant approaches, tools and techniques.

Where could a BTA be placed?

Typical positions for a BTA – may be after an initial short induction and training – would be business analyst, business consultant, process consultant… etc.

What inputs does a BTA receive?

The PGPBT moulds students into a potential BTA through intensive inputs in the following areas
  • Skills for Strategic & Organizational Analysis
  • Approaches to Management of Organizational Change
  • Business Consulting and Diagnostic Skills
  • IT Orientation
  • Interpersonal skills and competence
  • Environmental awareness
  • Good Domain Knowledge of specific industries and business processes
  • Strong Reality Orientation
  • International Exposure

How does EABS Ensure the Inputs?

• Industry executives and renowned academicians from India & abroad are actively involved in selection of students for the programme and curriculum design & delivery
• A mix of conceptual & practically oriented courses
– 21 core courses & 4 workshops covering conceptual inputs, critical skills & competencies (including technology & interpersonal skills) and awareness regarding business and legal environment both on Indian and Global scale. Details are given in the accompanying brochure.
– Intense international exposure @ EGSM, Switzerland; University of Essex, UK; ISUGA, France and Boston University, USA
– Industry specialization through 10 domain specific elective courses & workshops
• A strong foundation in Technology & Technology management issues
• Focus on development of interpersonal & leadership capabilities
• Total academic inputs of more than 1000 hours in addition to other academic & extra curricular activities
– 680 hours of lectures
– 120 hours of workshops
– More than 200 hours of internships and projects
• International exposure through foreign faculty and International Leadership Module at our partner universities.
• Active Participation by industry in conducting courses & workshops
• An intensive series of guest lectures by Practicing Managers
• Projects with corpoate SBUs – continuous interaction with & mentoring by Practicing Managers
• Integrative Internships with Industry with prospective employers

I hope you will find it useful.

I am interested in applying in the coming 2009 batch at EABS. I have following some queries related to the admission & other miscellaneous issues.
1. Kindly comment on my profile is it enough to gather a call from EABS.
2. I underwent Diploma in Engineering after Matriculation & Joined B.Tech in 2nd year through Lateral Engineering Entry Scheme for Diploma Holders. I want know that whether my application will be considered, since some B-school doesn't accept such academic background.
3. I am had booked my GMAT Test date on 22 Jan'09, since last date of submission of application for the 2nd is 31 Jan'09, will my score of GMAT will be accepted or not????. If yes than what is the code for EABS to submit my official score.
4. What is the intake strength for the each specialization for 2009 intake?
5. What is the placement Scenario for the EABS, I mean what the ratio of international / domestic offers along with packages offered.

Thanks & Regards
Mandeep

Hi Mandeep!

Your profile (since I dunno abt your GMAT scores) is good enough to receive a call from EABS.

Since we don't differentiate between lateral entries and direct entries for engineering your application will be considered for sure.

You can send our GMAT scores after 22nd jan.

We do not decide the strength based on spcialization in advance, we can't do that until we evaluate d candidates.

Since placements are going on it will be difficult to give u exact idea abt d ratio of national vs international placements at this stage. For the first batch of EABS d highest domestic package (so far) is 9 lacs+ , and average domestic package is 6+ lacs.

Best of Luck!

Dear Sir

Thanks for your prompt reply to my queries. I have some other doubts also hope you will clarify the same. Since i am appearing for GMAT on 22 Jan'09 thus does it mean that i should sent my application form there after. If I do so i will have to appear for the interview in the month of Feb'09 as per the schedule mentioned on the EABS Website, but due to some official commitments i will not be possible for me to attend interview in the month of Feb'09. I can easily attend the interviews scheduled in the month of Jan'09. Is Possible to submit my application before in the First Round & appear for the Interview in Jan'09 & later update my GMAT score after 22nd Jan to get the final result from the Admission Committee?

Thanks
Mandeep

Mandeep,

We can forward your application to academic committee and let them decide whether to call you before submitting your GMAT. Though, after reading your profile, it appears to me we may call you for first round of interview.

As I have already said in my earlier post, the test scores are not the criteria for getting interview calls. The test scores will be considered ONLY at the time of final merit list.

If you have any queries, feel free to call me during working hours.

best wishes for your application.

Hi Sir/Mam,
this is Ravi, I have some queries regarding Academics:

1) This comming session 2009-2010 in which country will the batch go for International module i.e. Swistzerland, UK, France or USA ?

2) Also in Professor Dr Sanjiv Vaidya's post above I read that your 4th Academic partner is Boston University, USA, so will 2009-2010 batch will be sent to Boston university, USA ?
3) I wanted to know does it depend on what specialization each student takes then specific country or university is selected for international module ? or whole batch is sent to one country or different country?

4) Have any Internships started of current batch ? what Average stipend are you expecting for Domestic and International Summer Placements ?

5) Lastly, as the course is of Rigrous studies for 12 months consisting of 3 modules of 4 months each, do we have any kind of summer or winter breaks ? or breaks after every module(every 4 months) ?

Please reply Soon

thanks

Ravi.

Dear Dr Richa Vyas,

I an engineering graduate who was with Infosys Technologies and another software firm for the last 2 years.I am planning to take apply to a PGP for 2009-10

I have gone through your website and got information about PGP-BT program offered at EABS.

Going through the previous posts on this thread, and valuable inputs by Dr Sanjiv Vaidya, many doubts that I was about to ask got clarified. I shall be

thankful to him for his valuable inputs.

My brief profile:

Class 12 - 74.5%
Engg - 70.02% (From College of engg,. GITAM, Ranked 2 in AP state)

Currently Persuing Postgraduate diploma in Intellectual property rights (PGDIPRL 2008-09) at National law school, Bangalore - An Institute of national

importance.

Presented 4 national level technical papers at NIT Warangal, AUCE, Visakhapatnam and JNTUCE,Ananthapur in the field of biotechnology/Nanotechnology/Energy

management.

Was a intern at IIT Delhi, where I worked with a prof in the field of nanotechnology. Part of the work got published in the Journal of Nanoscience&

nanotechnology in the U.S. Was one of the 21 candidates who were selected from allover India for this program.

My current work profile is Software engineer and test lead.

I have taken GMAT and the score is 550. Essay 5.0/6.0

I am highly inclined towards the PGP-BT program.

Please let me know my chances of getting a call and getting admitted.

The information given in the "list of companies" under placements tab is about the students' previous companies. Do let me know about the firms that are

recruiting the students @ EABS.

Another sentence says "After graduating, students have the opportunity to work with multi-national organisations from India & abroad like Mahindra &

Mahindra, Landmark group, KPMG, RPG at their national/overseas offices. We are committed to provide best management career for our students."

Can you please brief about the profiles, Locations and the Pay packages.

Ravi,

1) In the next batch you have an option of choosing from all of the international level study modules. We are giving wide options for the students so that they are not limited to the choice of one country. For eg: Essex is fantastic for Enterpreneurship whereas ISUGA is great for techomanagment inputs.

2) Yes, we are in advance stage of finalizing the arrangements with Boston Uni. So you can have an option to going to Boston as well.

3) The batch can go to which ever country they like, it would depends on individual choice & domain they wish to work on.

4) The average domestic stipend can be around 12,000 to 15,000 INR. International stipend depends on the country of work. One of our student working on a Canadian project gets CAD$ 5 per hour.

5) The course is rigorous, there is no doubt. But you will have few breaks depending on the schedule. We try to give few days breaks during Diwali & Christmas.

best wishes,
