As I quoted in one of the replies earlier that selection at EABS involves various parameters (pls. refer to mansee's query), as per you mail I'm assuming that you have a substantial experience and coming from sales and marketing you must be good at other soft skills, if you agree with me then I suggest you to apply directly.

In case you are not very confident of your performance in other parameters, to be on the safer side you can take EABS's test.

Hi!

So far recognition from AICTE/UGC is concerned we have the same status as any other 1 year PGP in India. However, EABS requires a candidate to complete 60 credits, which is equivalent to any other 2 yrs.masters program.

Hence for your Ph.D., under ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) our degree is recognized in Europe, in India however, various universities have different policies regarding the pre-requisites and same goes for an FPM from IIMs, MDI, XLRI etc.

Have a few queries which I am posting below.Requesting you to please clarify.

• I intend to apply in the first round of form submission with my scores of XAT of 2008 and 2009.But while applying and even during the first round of GD/PI the scores of XAT 2009 would not be declared expectedly.So how do I declare the percentile?In this case would you advise me to apply in the first round and then the best score would be taken after the results are declared or you would advise me to apply only in the second round?
• Is ZCBI associated with EABS or EABS is a new entity?
• What is the pattern and duration of the EABS Aptitude test?
• What are the library facilities provided?
• Where would the accommodation be provided as there is no Hostel Facility?
• Could you please elaborate on the infrastructure of the classroom?
• Could you please provide some insight into the student life in EABS?
• As on date how many students have been placed and what is the avg salary of the current batch?How many companies are expected to recruit this year?
• Is the entire fee to be given at once or trimester wise?
• What is the exact duration of the training module abroad in the partner university?How is it decided as to which of the three partner universities does the student go to....Do the students decide themselves?
• Is wireless internet available in the campus premises?
• Are the students paid stipend during the internships?

Thanks for your detailed query. Enclosed find the response:

* You can apply for first round of application indicating your XAT 2008. We will prepare the merit list after all the GD/PI is completed. Your XAT score will be considered during the preparation of final merit list. If you improve your score in XAT 2009, we will give you fair chance of informing us about your score and updating it. We don't test candidates solely on their scores (as mentioned in another post .... plz refer).

* ZCBI is now merged with Europe Asia Business School (EABS). We have global expansion plans in other countries (in Asia & Europe), the top management as taken strategic decision to change our name to EABS and merged ZCBI with EABS.

* EABS aptitude test will be based on CAT pattern.

* We have excellent library facility with online access to leading databases like CMIE, EBSCO available to every student. You can access our online databases anywhere in the world. This gives students a flexibility of learning even from their hostel rooms or at homes during vacations.

* You have an option of signing up for the accommodation. We have taken services of a third party who specializes in providing accommodation to most the IT companies in the vicinity.

* The duration of international leadership module is 3-4 weeks. The students have a choice of making the decision of choosing the partner university. I have been following the progress of ZCBI and now EABS rather closely ever since I found out about it a year ago. And it has been extremely interesting to see the way it is generating more and more interest among people, students and parents alike. And I must admit, I am no different.

I finished my graduation last year, a year later than I was actually supposed to do it. And I am now very seriously interested in studying with EABS for my MBA Program.

Most of the questions that I had are already answered previously.

What i would like to know though is how much preference is given to academic background over work experience and other factors.

I have had voluntary experience previously where i was the local President of an International Organization and have traveled abroad, including Europe, as a national representative. I am currently working as a Corporate Recruiter since the past 7 months. But due to reason many, my academic scores are rather unimpressive.
Xth - 85 %
XIIth - 70%
BCom - 49 %
And these do include a few re-attempts.

So having given this rather generic view about my background, what i would like to know is, realistically what are the chances of a person like me getting admission into EABS? I do understand that you have answered a similar question like this before. But if a candidate's other backgrounds apart from the academic ones are strong, does he still stand the same chance as a 60 or a 70 % getter?

• 'How much weightage we give to work ex. over acades', & your chances of making it to EABS

We at EABS analyse an invidual's strengths, there is nothing like we have a preference for work experience or academics, we rather look for a balance.We judge a candidate on various parameters, acads being only one of them. In your case as you mentioned your work experience is the strength, you stand a fair chance to be selected at EABS.

I suggest that you prepare well for your entrance (if you have not attempted CAT/XAT/ GMAT etc) both the exam and GD-PI.

I thank u for taking this great initiative to solve our doubts about EABS, I do have some, please if u could help me out :

1) I have read all your replies like regarding admissions you look into balance in applicant i.e. test score, work-experience, extra curricular and leadership activities, but my query is, having every aspect on an average what should one score in xat or your aptitude test to get a gd/pi call ?

2) You have 2 Admission rounds so will there be more seats and better chances in 1st round than 2nd round ?

3) We have to get Recommedation letter at the time of interview and not to be sent along with the form ?

4) Can we choose electives in pure marketing and operations
( dual specialization or major/minor ) and not retail elective ? is it allowed as per the choice of a student ?

5) The PGPBT Application form is missing Q# 21 and Q#22 ?

6) As students will not be living on wifi campus but in flats or as paying guests then do we have facilities for internet connections in flat ?

1) Our director has strong opinion about qualitative & quantitative method of selection. Quantitative methods are ruthless (if you score 99% you are admitted and if you score 98.5% you are omitted). Thats why we have devised qualitative method of selection, where we evaluate students on basis of several parameters. Regarding the cut-off, there is nothing decided. We will be able to comment after looking at the applications.

2) The two rounds are to reduce the rush of GD/PI and give more time to individual candidate to be evaluated by the interview panel. You are encouraged to apply in the first round. It is percieved, most of the students wait for last moment to fill the forms and send us. So please apply on time to avoid rush & mistakes.

3) You can take reco letter at the time of interview. Do not send anything with the form.

4) Yes, you can make your own electives. You will be given opportunity to talk to our Professors before making up your mind to choose the electives.

5) Thanks for pointing it out, we will get it corrected.

6) The cost of getting broadband at home is very less. You would be living in shared accomodation, hence you can order your own internet. Our material & library is available online, therefore, you can get the access from anywhere.

thanks for answering my queries. please look into these doubts also so that I can get a more clear idea.


1) So if I am applying in 1st round via xat 2009 or via your aptitude test & gd/pi will occur in mid Jan 09, but xat 09 result will be out later and also your aptitude test will take place after 15 days of gd/pi.....so can you explain me how should i go about this?

2) If I apply via both xat 09 and EABS aptitude test then out of the two tests best performance will be considered ?

3) Correct me if I am wrong....What i understand from your reply is that if i do not want to take retail electives I can avoid them and specialize in pure marketing and operations electives ? ( my reason to stress on this is because as EABS specially emphasises on Retail sector but I find marketing and operations for me a more suitable option as i have experience in this ) ?

4) How much Annual expence I should expect for 11 months in pune i.e. living, eating, travelling etc...?

Ravi,

1) If you are applying to XAT 2009 or EABS aptitude test then I will advise you to appear in Feb interview process. However, you can send-in your application before 30th Dec, we will put to the academic committee. If the committee wish to invite you for GD/PI based on your profile/application form they can invite you in Jan 09 otherwise you will be considered for Feb09 process. We look for qualitative aspects in your applications and accordingly your GD/PI call can come. There is no harm in sending the application early.

2) Out of your two test, we will give you fair chance and your best performance will be considered for merit list.

3) Yes, you can choose the electives as per your choice. In currrent batch many students have taken dual specilization or pure-specilalization.

4) Pune is a moderate expense city. You can spend around Rs. 5000/- per month to live a quality student life.
