[2009-11]Queries for SIMSR KJ Somaiya

hello seniors,

I just used online application and did the payment using credit card.

The application page wch I am getting is not coming in a single page and
some parts are there in 2nd page as well (payent details and half of work ex part).

So is it okay to send the office the application form in same 2 seperate pages ? If anyone has already applied plz help me out !!

Also wat does it mean by attested work ex certificate ??
Isnt it enough just last month's pay slip ?
And attested by gajjeted off ?

Relax man! its not that difficult. u can send those 2 pages.It will not be an issue.
as far as your attested docs are concerned, it is required.
lastly, your salary slip does not necessarily suggest the duration u have been working. therefore, u will need to provide a certificate.

The 1st list of selected candidates will be announced on 18th april 2009 for both PGDM and PGDM -IB.

Sectionals do not play a role in your admission marks calculation. Overall CAT 2008 score will have a 40% weightage.
You are marked on all parameters includin your academic performance over the years and work ex. So, the question of not selecting on the grounds u mentioned is not possible. You will get marks according to your performance and then the top 120 get a seat. simple n transparent.

Coz i didnt come across the newspaper notification?

And can you tell us when is the last date of application?

Does KJSom assess the overall profile of the candidate before giving calls or is it that only the CAT scores are considered?


Well i had 1 more ques, (for Which i know this is not the apt thread but anyways..)
Are the Welingkar forms out?

The advert cam out on 23rd oct.
online registration process started from 25th oct.
last date for registration is 31st december.
Calls are based on CAT 2008 score only.
No clue about welingkar.

puys cud u plzz temme wat percentile i wud be getting and wat my chances are for simr?

also one of the fellow seniors have posted dat 96 thingy was out of 200
i hope dat it meant dat only , as in IMS also dey have posted percentile required >=96%le
maybe IMS also got confused with it hopefully

also puys if u dont mind cud u plzz suggest other colls where i cud try my luck...plzzz

hey bro.....now 4 the first question.....if u are getting 104 in cat.....in my personal opinion, u wont have any issues being shortlisted.....

As 4 the 96 thingy confusion floating around..........this 96 is actually a score out of 200 that is used 4 internal evaluation of candidates by SIMSR....this evaluation includes GD, PI, CAT scores, Essay, Psychometric test, workex, Acads etc....

the cutoff was 91 %ile last year....both for PGDM and PGDM IB, workex and freshers.....i.e. only one cutoff 91........i hope this clears ur doubts.

As for the other colleges where u might be shortlisted with these scores (again a personal opinion) are IMT - G and TAPMI, other colleges might consider other scores like XAT, etc...

hey dont worry .. d cut off last time was 91%ile sectional goes around 50
and no sectional cut off if % is above 95.. so don't worry about DI

as per me u must get a call from SIMSR
Though work ex is a major factor, as it fetches additional marks during the interview process.
almost all blue chip companies visit our campus, and the avg figure quoted on the website avg: 7.07 for pgdm is very transparent,

avg stipend for summers is arnd 10,000-15,000 in current scenario, which is quite pleasing too.

keep posting regarding any further doubts..
