Hi Friends,

I am wokiing with an Indian IT major since 2 years

Just wanted to confirm the Fees for the PGDM course.

As per the site, I guess it comes to less than 2.5 lacs per annum

With the placement statistics mentioned, I think it makes for a very good ROI

Can you elaborate on the fees and Total expenses

Thanks

what i want to know sir is that why in the world did they reject me... was it that i didn't have any work ex?? or was it something else... and sir do u know any fresher of ur batch(PGDM) who has cleared it with a borderline case of 91+..

There is no clear cut answer to ur question....but i will try my level best to explain what B-Schools (SIMSR included) look for in potential students

Confidence, Attitude, Communication skills, work - ex, energy, etc...

Work-ex is a very important factor.....but it is definitely not the only factor.....i am sure that there are a couple of students in PGDM and PGDM (IB) , who are freshers and have CAT scores between 91 and 92....but they more than make up in the level of enthusiasm, confidence, comm. skills and aptitude that they bring to SIMSR.

My suggestion to u would be not to give up hope and to come back even stronger next year.....if u have that X factor in u, there is no reason for u not getting into SIMSR....keep ur hopes and chin up.

Well....about the fees....its Rs 1,10,000 for one year college fees and
about 40K for the hostel. That makes the total come to Rs 2,20,000 + hostel fees for the entire course....laptop is not included in the fees.....so thats an extra 35 - 45K.

The placement figures mentioned on the website are accurate.....

The ROI that u r considering is right.........and attractive.........no doubt bout that.........
but please do not compute the ROI in just monetary terms....the non-monetary benefits are priceless......we have got the best faculty....many of our faculty are from IIM's and such colleges, having approximately 15 - 25 years of industry experience. Its actually a pleasure to listen to these faculty members share their experiences.

The ROI is much more than u can even imagine my friend.

Hey thanks a lot...

Please excuse me, the reason I calculated in monetary terms was coz thats the immediate picture in front of aspiring candidates

In fact many guys end up lookin only at placement stats, not even considering the cost and return the way I did

However, I m glad to read ur response n really lookin forward to SIMSR KJS

Thanks again

k j som (SIMSR) offers 5 specializations Marketing, Finance, H.R. ops and International Business.

You can choose ur spec after first year, first year is common 4 everyone. Only for International Business (IB) u have to make this spec choice b4 joining the course (though the 1st year is same for IB also)

When u will be filling out the SIMSR form.....u will be given a choice between PDGM and IB.....u can give ur first and second priority to these courses.....rest of the admission process will be the same.....depending on the number of candidates choosing a particular course, and the candidates performance in the admission process, appropriate course will be offered to the candidates.

Everything else including faculty, placements...etc are same for PGDM and IB
