I am so eager to see comments of our experts ... Please let us know what you think about the ranking given !!!
IIM-B and IIM-C have not participated ... :crazyeye:
But I think they are too good to be rated !!! So any Rank after 5 can be assumed as rank+2.

It is clearly mentioned in the article that IIM C and B didnt participate!

Also the ranking, they claim is different as it is based on the data the agency collected and verified by personally visiting the B-schools.

The surprising part of the rankings is IMT-G making it to top 10 and beating MDI on parameters such as Selection Procedure and Placements.

Also XIMB speaheading in top 10 and even above IIFT.

What to make out of this is still not clear!

Cheers!

I would like to suggest an excellent ranking methodology called data envelopment analysis (DEA) to rank B-Schools in India, which /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Wingdings; panose-1:5 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0; mso-font-charset:2; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:0 268435456 0 0 -2147483648 0;} @font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:roman; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-1610611985 1107304683 0 0 159 0;} @font-face {font-family:Garamond; panose-1:2 2 4 4 3 3 1 1 8 3; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:roman; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:647 0 0 0 159 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-unhide:no; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:EN-US; mso-fareast-language:EN-US;} .MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-default-props:yes; font-size:10.0pt; mso-ansi-font-size:10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:70.85pt 70.85pt 2.0cm 70.85pt; mso-header-margin:36.0pt; mso-footer-margin:36.0pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} /* List Definitions */ @list l0 {mso-list-id:1517160345; mso-list-type:hybrid; mso-list-template-ids:1089352904 67698711 67698695 67698715 67698703 67698713 67698715 67698703 67698713 67698715;} @list l0:level1 {mso-level-number-format:alpha-lower; mso-level-text:"%1\)"; mso-level-tab-stop:36.0pt; mso-level-number-position:left; text-indent:-18.0pt;} @list l0:level2 {mso-level-number-format:bullet; mso-level-text:; mso-level-tab-stop:72.0pt; mso-level-number-position:left; text-indent:-18.0pt; mso-ansi-font-size:8.0pt; font-family:Wingdings;} ol {margin-bottom:0cm;} ul {margin-bottom:0cm;} --> has been internationally acclaimed as a leading-edge method of performance measurement that supports benchmarking, continuous improvement and strategic analysis. The current methodology used for ranking is based on one fundamental assumption of fixed weight scheme (selection process (SP): 0.20, academic excellence (AE): 0.25, facilities (F): 0.10, personality development (PD): 0.15 and placement (P): 0.30) that remains same for all B-Schools irrespective of their size, years of their operation, etc. This means that there is constant trade off between various parameters. For example, in the present case, the trade offs, between SP and AE is 0.8, between SP and F is 2, between SP and PD is 1.333, between SP and P is 0.667, between AE and F is 2.5, between AE PD is 1.667, between AE and P is 0.8333, between F and PD is 0.667, between F and P is 0.333, and finally between PD and P is 0.5. In this fixed weight scheme each parameter is assigned a fixed value by considering (treating) it in isolation, disregarding the influence that other parameters may have on it. This could lead to inaccurate rankings where a good B-Schooll may be treated otherwise, and therefore not treated at par with other good B-Schools with which it should have otherwise been compared with There is therefore in the interests of accuracy, a need to assign weights to different parameters not in isolation but recognizing the influence of one on the other. This new scheme is called variable weightIing scheme. The DEA methodology has been employed in the literature to rank B-Schools. One by Colbert, Levary and Shaner in European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR) in 2000 (Vol.: 125, pages: 656-669) and the other by Ray and Jeon in the same journal EJOR in 2008 (Vol.: 189, pages: 245-26.

If given an opportunity, I would like to present a seminar demonstrating the superiority of this new methodology over its fixed counterpart. I sincerely believe that this new methodology, if used judiciously, will generate much more accurate scientific ranking, which will be received positively both by academics and industry.

ON SUGGESTING A NEW RANKING METHODOLOGY

I would like to suggest an excellent ranking methodology called data envelopment analysis (DEA) to rank B-Schools in India, which has been internationally acclaimed as a leading-edge method of performance measurement that supports benchmarking, continuous improvement and strategic analysis.

Buddy...ranking in India are always required to be adopted with a pinch of salt because there are always credibility issues with all these bskool rankings..

So, dont try to read too much into these rankings
