Re: [2008] Ask MICA Ahmedabad: Official Admission Query Thread feat. Prof Deval Karti - 31-01-2009, 03:02 PM

Respected Madam,
My name is Sunny Srivastava(form no. 3710) and i have applied for the PGDM-C program in MICA. And luckily i have made it to the MICAT round. Just one cause of concern. When I checked my name is MICA's website it just mentions my first name as in SUNNY. No last name (which is Srivastava) mentioned there.
Is it any cause for concern? Please clarify.
Also one more thing, I have some work in Ahmedabad the next week, so can i come down to MICA to check out the campus and interact with the students there and also meet you..i.e. if you would be kind enough(which you have been throughout)to and not busy enough to clarify some small doubts i have??
One more teeny-weeny issue...Its mentioned in the MICAT call letter which I have received as a soft copy in my mail that we'r supposed to bring a print out of it to the MICAT test centre. So what i wanna know is how to take the print out..(Sounds stupid i know, but its better to clarify than repent on FEB 22nd) Do ii take the print out directly from the mail and copy-paste in MS Word and then take a print or or better still...Is a hard copy on its way to my letter box??
Will sincerely appreciate a quick reply. Thanking You. Take Care. Cherio.
Sunny Srivastava.

Competition is never BAD.... It is always TOUGH and HEALTHY
Give your best shot and hope for the best.... And as far as the number of calls are concerned, it has already been told that the number of applicants will be more than usual as the cutoffs were declared way before CAT....

Sunny Srivastava.

Hi Sunny

Not a concern over name. As long as your MICA id/form no and your first name matches.

I will be out of town till 4th. Back to MICA only 5th. Please do come over, no issues there.

You can take print of the actual e mail. No need to paste it on word doc.

Bye
Deval

Re: [2008] Ask MICA Ahmedabad: Official Admission Query Thread feat. Prof Deval Karti - 31-01-2009, 10:53 PM

Mam,

I have some queries regarding MICAT...

1> In psychomatric test in many questions I think both the statements are correct for me.

For e.g. The sample paper given on the website one questuon is..
(A) I systematically follow a schedule of self-improvement.
(B) I find that self-improvement is difficult to work at regularly.

I systematically follow a schedule of self-improvement and at the same time find it difficult to follow a strategy but still I try to improve myself because there is no way out in this era of competetion.

So which option should I mark.

This was just an example and I am confused about many questions because either both statements are valid or non are very strong....
In this case what should I do???

2> I find it difficult to answer word asssociation problem?? How should I prepare it??

3> I have heard that there is no negative marking in MICAT and we have to attempt all the questions otherwise our calls will not be considered.. Am I right??

4> We have to clear cut-off in all the section.. so time allocation for diffrent section would be given(as it is given in the sample paper) or we have tro manage it??/

thank you

Hi Deval Ma'am

I know you have already answered my query. But i just wanted to clarify.

I had filled up DELHI as the desired center for MICAT. However, I have been alloted Ahmedabad as the center. Being a female candidate, and also because i don't know anybody in Ahmedabad, it would logistically be almost impossible for me to come to Ahmedabad for the Test.

Are you sure i can't request the admission authorities to look into this.

Please do reply
Thanks for the patience

Dear Batman(Does that ring a bell !!!!) and MICans,

1>I too have the same problem with my psychomatric tests , please give us a solution when we are in a dilema.

2>Are there any prescribed formats to be followed in the essay .
For Example: in an argument, do we have to stick to one side, or can we take a neutral stand.Go with the into, body 1, body 2 , conclusion type..?

3> WORD ASSOCIATIONS are a bit tough , so I want to confirm the answers of last years questions , could MICA release an answerkey ?
Is there any book or reference material that I could use for this exercise ?

Thanking You in AAAAAAnnntycipaaaaaaation ,

Yours Truly,
Robin

Re: [2008] Ask MICA Ahmedabad: Official Admission Query Thread feat. Prof Deval Karti - 01-02-2009, 03:32 PM

Hi Deval Ma'am,

I had applied through GMAT score and got call for MICAT. Though I have sent the softcopy of the form to admission office, in the MICAT requirement list it's mentioned to bring the physical copy of the score card. Unfortunately I have not recieved the same from GMAC, though I had wrote the exam back in december. When I called up GMAC, they said that it could be lost and they can resend that, which could take four weeks of time. While I am hopeful that I will get it by MICAT, as a worst case, is there any alternative for ones who have not recieved their physical copy?

Thanks!!
