Hi Deval Madam and fellow MICAspirants..
I've been a silent observer (and learner) on this thread for quite a few weeks now. Kudos to Deval Madam for her eternal patience and valuable guidance. Now when the official shortlist is out,

and for others, as Deval Madam said- MICA is not the end of the World ! (But what if one doesn't want to go till the end of the world )

Looking at the MICAT call makes me feel like i have been shortlisted for GE/PI!

Deval Ma'am, thank you so much for all your help!!
Its written in the call letter and i quote,
"The MICAT is designed to test the following: a) Communication proficiency; b) General awareness c) Creativity/ divergent thinking."
Though it's pretty straight forward, yet i'll like to ask:
Does this mean no quantitative aptitude/ Data interpretation section?
Also they haven't written anything about the psychometric test, which i thought would come anyway, even if the paper pattern is changed.

Well MICA has always had these charges for the round two of their process. So a little research on MICA and you would have known that even before you applied to MICA. There are many colleges who have these charges. At least the good thing with MICA is that they haven't increased their charges in the last 3-4 years if I am not wrong I think the charges are justified to an extent because there will be two rounds - MICAT and then the GD/PI for those shortlisted. Conducting MICAT at 4 centres across the country is going to be some effort and I dont know of any other B-school that has such process. Now if MICA wouldnt have had this 2-tier second round process, I would have been eliminated just based on my CAT scores. But by conducting MICAT I am getting a second chance to be part of the process. So I dont really mind paying 500 for it.

PS: I am assuming here that there won't be any charges once again for those short-losted for the GD/PI round :eh:

Foot Ruler mangaya hai......drwaing to nahi hoga? Haven't drawn anything substantial ever since I was kicked outta my intermediate exam back in 7th std.

What You didnt know?
Of course there is an important question in MICAT every year where you have to visualize the situation given and present it on the form using only straight lines. The lesser number of straight lines used to perfectly depict the situation, the more marks you score. And mind you this is a very important question. In case there is a tie in overall scores this question decides who gets through. There are special visual analysts in MICA who are apponted to judge the question!

Realax dude! No use of the foot-ruler has been found traditionally in MICAT as far as I remember.

PS: Forgive me for the post. Friday Evenings in office generally does this to me
