Ma'am- i read in chuck's post about MICAT that there is a section with a pyschometric test.
If this question is answerable ma'am,could you tell us what exactly the institute hopes to judge with the test.
I have read that these tests are used to determine the right career for an individual. Now,is that what MICA wants to know? If we are opting for the right choice given our individual traits?
Ma'am if i have asked you a question that i should not have then, i am really sorry.
I just thought it would be informative to know what MICA is essentially looking to judge with that test.

There are different types of psychometric tests. the one in MICAT is essentially to figure out creativity quotient (If I may use it roughly). Not about writing poetry or doing sketches but how do you respond to different situations in a creative manner to get a solution.

And don't worry about or feel sorry about asking questions. There are no wrong questions. If it is not answerable for whatever reason, I will say so. Take it easy.

Ma'am but the psychometric test last year had very general questions . It was just A or B with hardly any scope for giving creative answers.And i thought the questions were not situation based but more related to the direct traits of an individual. It was more like -
Do you get worked up when obstacles crop up and YET solve the problems or do you solve the problem without much ado .And the main thing i noticed was that the options were not opposites. they were not Black or White cases. Both options were shades of grey. There were many a times when i felt the answer depended on the situation,but there was NO direct situation given in the question obviously. I don't know if i am making sense ma'am
This was just my opinion when i looked through and analysed last year's paper.

Sona,

There are no right or wrong answers in psychometric tests. So the sentences will not be BLACK or WHITE, you need to choose what is closer to you as a person.

And now that you have reached till MICAT, why let this worry you. Psychometric is one of the five sections. So focus on all. Don't get pulled down by it. Go, conquer it.

My CAT score is as follows:-

Section - I Quantitative 8.00 (out of 100) 47.77 percentile
Section - II Logic & DI 16.00 (out of 96) 59.27 percentile
Section - III Verbal Ability 55.00 (out of 160) 96.89 percentile

Total 79 (out of 356) 88.03 percentile

Apart from this, I've completed B.A. (HONS.) English from Delhi University in 2008. Right now i am working with Comma Consulting (a PR firm in Delhi, started working from December).

Ma'am is it advisable for me to apply to MICA? Do you really see any chances for me?

I'd be immensely grateful if you could help me out.

You are not meeting two criteria. Quant and overall. So i won't advise you to apply to MICA.

hi deval madam
i just had 1 query....
i hav a wrk exp of 3+ yrs...but it is in bpo sector
have wroked in bnke solutions pvt ltd(an iso 9001:2001 co.) for aroun 2.5 yrs and IBM daksh for 9 months...( i know its stupid of me to mention the names and thie iso certification but its jst to show tht they were the best in the fields and i was 1 of the best performers there)
will this exp be of ne help in mica...or prove to be hurdle...
i gave cat just coz of mica and hav got 93%ile and 92%ile in va...rest are in the range of 80%ile...
1 mr thing...ne xtra payment to be made for micat??
will apprecite if u cud reply asap...
