CheckEETS-are you sure? About MICAT calls NOT being subjective i mean?
This is how my profile looks-
10th-85
12th-75
B.E.(upto sixth sem)-72

CAT-08 (all figures in percentiles)
overall- 95.12
QA - 53.xx
DI - 86.xx
VA - 98.xx
As i definitely clear the eligibility stated on the MICA website (both OA above 90 and sectionals above 50), am i certain to get a call?
Reason i'm asking is I REALLY WANT to make it to MICA and i was hoping against hope that i clear the 50 percentile barrier in quant.
The MICAT calls are purely CAT based , are they?
Thanks in advance.

Re: [2008] Ask MICA Ahmedabad: Official Admission Query Thread feat. Prof Deval Karti - 09-01-2009, 05:38 PM

Hi Deval Mam.

I am a dentist with 2 years work experience in a hospital. I would like to get into health management, more so the HRD/Communication/Motivation side of public health. I feel I have an aptitude for this, but I am not sure if MICA is the place for this. Is MICA a good option for me? I understand that a lot of Pharma graduates also come to MICA.

My CAT 2008 scores are
QA- 75.93 percentile
DI- 67.23 percentile
VA- 99.64 percentile

OA- 97.77 percentile.

I feel since the MICA programme is geared towards Communication management, it fits somewhat into my goals, and I also understand it is up to me to make the most of the opportunities that I would get there as a student. All the same, what are your views regards this?

Thank you, in advance.

Hi Puys,

CAT results are out and its about time we started focussing on the next hurdle ie MICAT. I know some of us are not sure of getting MICAT calls. But I think all of us wud agree that we must stay focussed and start preparing for the next round. We can either start a new thread altogether or use one of the existing threads. There is a thread called mica 2009!, which cud be used to good effect. What say puys???

Hi Gautam,

If u rummage through the previous posts, u should not find any difficulty in finding it for urself. It has been categorically stated that MICA calls are not relative. Anyone having 89.xx overall with 50% or more in qa, 50% or more in DI and 60% or more in va would be invited for the next round. The overall used to be 90% but professor Deval Kartik has made it quite clear that 89% might well be considered. Work experience or academics doesnot play a role in determining the call. CALLS ARE PURELY BASED ON CAT/GMAT score.
