See here is the logic.This is purely my guess and nothing official about it whatsoever.
MICA application form number starts with 300001(This would be the form number of the first person who applied to MICA).

I had applied on the first day itself and my form number is pretty close to that.

If you randomly try form numbers on the results page, you will find that the last form number TO BE SHORTLISTED is 303476. Not even a single form is shortlisted after this(BTW I tried tilll 305000)

Now let us assume that 3476 is the number of applications received by MICA. among these, 1000(say) were received before CAT(thanks to die hard MICA fans) and around 2500 after CAT. From those 2500 applications not many would have been rejected(as they somehow could have guessed their scores). From the first 1000, say 50% were rejected. So, we have got 2500(best case)+ 500 = 3000 applications.

Again this figure is the best case, From 3000, MICA might want to shortlist 500 for GE/PI. In that case we have to score around 83 percentile in MICAT to make the cut.

yaar u forgot abt offline applications. those would be around 5000.
as some one said earlier converting a mica call is tougher than IIMA!!
and lets take MyCAT seriously or else we have to wait one more year to showcase our creativity..
