Actually i think you should be able to manage it.
In my case i am with a public ltd company and as a sr mgmt at board level,i will have to inform regulatory authorities (stock exchanges, clb etc) as well. and in this case it is 90 days  violation can be apparently charged under insiders act(however all that now appears to be ajoke post the satyam epsiode  ).
I thought it was best to be honest and let know of my plan in advance so that it does not in anyway affect the business continuity/shareholders,I also wanted to set the right ethical precedent,I took my lawyers advice and have issued a contingent notice, saying that I have applied to Glim and if i get it I will leave. (this also hopefully covers the fact that if i dont get glim i intend to continue  )
Lucky for me is that fin markets are slightly on the ebb, hence my guess is that i will get relieved if i give my resignation later based on this contingent notice.
However as per the law of land normally u will lose only the financial compensation in case of short notice, this was also made known to me by my lawyer. However do check up with your lawyer on your contractual obligations with your organization.
If you want me to be of any help feel free to msg me.
This is my 2 Cents on this topic

@TwiceBlessedMan
I have this concern regarding the Provisional and Original degree certificate. I could not produce the original and the snr who checked my docs did a check mark against my name, she did not mention further whether that was important or not or as in when i have to produce it.
Is it OK to have not shown the original ?
Also, one thing worries me now is --- how goood or bad is it to tell ur most unethical behaviour to Panelists ? I told them one of mine and now i am scared ?
I wud miss GLIM badly if i loose it for silly reason ?

Day 0 at iim a disaster -
26-02-2009, 05:39 AM
Hi guys,
Just touch based (absurd hour) Day Zero was terrible yday at IIMA.
Only 13 offers yday vs 108 last yr!!
22 Lakhs highest vs 1.44 crores last yr.
No ibanking recruiters yes not even 1 (except the PPO types) , only consulting(the 5 pandavas) and one engg giant.
Await details as soon as these dudes wake up in the morning. Else they are being very tight lipped.
Wow recesion has really hit man! but as a contrarian again i reiterate this is the BEST TIME .
Go for it Champs all the best!
Cheers

Hi,
Those are words of wisdom. What i would advise everybody is that you guys should start training your next in line without giving details or hint about your mba aspirations. I understand that "mba" is a very sensitive word amongst project managers.....so, when the time comes, you wont be running against time....this is what i did....

Hi,
See, as far as i know, you will have to mail the scanned copy of the original degree certificate to query@greatlakes.edu.in in the next 10 to 12 days if you did not produce it during the gd/pi.....make sure that your candidature is not affected by these small things....
Well, Saurav, whats done is done......dont worry about it.....last year i said that my weakness was my lack of patience.....thats as far as i went.....my idea was that i should not reveal any glaring weaknesses to them....in your case, if you have, some people might appreciate it as honesty while some others may take a more rigorous view....luck is the key here.....
i know for a fact that the 3 panelists award marks and in the end if you have impressed them in the other important areas....you will still sail through.....

Hello TBM/AM,
Thanks for all ur help and patience!!!:smilecol:
Now that the process is over I have a few queries. Please clarify these. Basically, these are some statistics regarding last year admissions.
1)How many waitlisted candidates were called last year?
2)How many of them were given admit?
3)Can we see our rolling Wait Listed Rank on website/Account?
Now that this year is a special one [ ]
(for 2 reasons: #number of seats increased to 260 #Economic downturn:downwards
1)How many waitlisted candidates will be called?
Your replies will really help lot of guys and will still provide a ray of hope to many.

Hi all
Now that the final phase of the admission processis over... its time to keep our fingers crossed i guess... All the same I hve a couple of queries which would be of interest to most GL aspirants. Is there any proposed scholarship or concession in the fee structure gven the 40% hike over last yr. Also Seniors it wud b great if u cud throw light on the mid prime crisis which is looming to blow over amidst serious depression fears. Would the situation worsen next yr...the views of the seniors wud b more useful as they hve the business perspective on a more serious and professional note. The quetsion is pertinent to most candidates who have to make a career decision including me
cheers

DNA: Money: Crisis bigger than subprime awaits US
Yes, mid prime and credit card default will kick in soon. No second thoughts on that. The question is - would one make a meal of it or not.
Reiterating for the nth time. Go to any b school in the world - you will get educated but you have to get yourself a job by letting the education sink in. As Uncle Bala says - Great Lakes will do the marketing but you have to do the sales.
MBA is no longer a short cut to the VP's chair but is a sure shot way to move up the ranks in an organization quicker than graduates.
Choice is yours!

Re: Great Lakes Admissions 2009 -
27-02-2009, 12:34 PM
I think swetha's question is on top of everybody's minds ... i have a more specific query... i have come to understand that at Great Lakes, or for that matter most other B- schools , the profiles offered to candidates at the time of placements , depend , to a large extent on their work - ex and positions held by them pre-MBA.(please correct me if i am wrong here) .This naturally extrapolates to the fact that a person with just about a year's experience will have to start pretty much from the scratch and the profile is likely to be " management trainee" or something similar.
As a person with just 15 months experience, given the slump in the placements, my chances, realistically speaking may not be great. I realise its entirely my call to decide if I wanna go for it this year, but I just want to know if it is possible to defer an admit for the sole purpose of gaining more work experience. Is such a provision available at Great Lakes?
