Its not that you have to get more than 95 or else you cant make it to spjain...what shankha mentioned was on an average...and as the website of spjain states minimum requirement is 85%ile to be eligible....so if u have a bad day at CAT but otherwise all else goes well you can pretty well make it here....

At the moment give ur best effort in CAT so that u get the best possibl score.

This is shravan.I m a software guy having
14 months of Exp.I want to apply for spjain this year.Can anyone pls help me on this,as there will be profile based calls.. following is my profile.
X - 89
XII(state board) - 95
B.Tech(computer science)(Not from IIT or NIT) - 69.6
Work Exp - 14 months
Extra curriculars - hmmmm(Please advice on this)
My questions...
1) I have applied last time for marketing(got rejected),,Is it bcoz I hav exp in IT...So What speacialization shld i need to opt(My pref marketing and finance).Please throw light on this.
2) Extra curriculars - Bcoz still there is Sometime where i can improve in this..Give some sample one's that we can put(develop).Seems silly,But i just want to know what spjain is looking for.Interested in short filmmaking(done some and sent for some shortfilmfesyivals)
It would be great help,If anyone guide me on this..Thanks in advance

Well, SP does consider your consistency throughout ur academic career and extra curriculars earn you a few brownie points.But the reason why SP stands out is that it does NOT make or MAR your chances of getting in if you just made a tiny mistake on C-day..
As far as ork ex is concerned, we can overwhelm you with the number of success stories we have.. so feel free to bombard all ur queries!

I am in my 4th yr of engg right now.. from the above posts it seems to me that we get our specializations right from the beginning, unlike at the IIMs where we can choose the electives in 2nd yr.. is it true?

And if it is, then is the choice of stream with us or is it allotted to us...

Yes you have to select your specialisation when u fill up the online form.
And there is no question of getting selected spec because you will be considered only for that specialisation..and hence if u make it thru to SPJIMR you will get that very specialisation..
