Sir, friends n seniors,
as mentioned in d IMI adv selection will also be based on past acads..
I hv poor acads record
10th- 69%
12th- 66%
and Grads(in B.C.A)- 59%
so i wud like 2 know if dis acad record hinder my prospects during selection?
and another thing, I finished my graduation in 2007 and hv been helping my dad in d business so will it account as work-ex?
and wat will b d expected cut-offs dis yr?

As far as Acads r concerned , i can assure that they do matter but they r not the only criteria & u can improve on ur overall score by improving on ur GDPI performance ..
So, dont worry abt acads ...Believe me , i have similar acads & there are many more such ppl with these type of acads , so u need not worry much as of now

Buddy , ur work exp can count at the time of selection if u could provide some proof of your experience justifying it ...

Nothing much can be said abt cutoffs as of now , but u can expect them to be in range of 96.5 %ile overall with decent sectionals ...

hello seniors,i m vinit from bhubaneswar, an aspirant..
first have a look at my profile
10th(ICSE)-69%
12th(CBSE)-66%
B.COM(H)-64%
work ex-12 months with an audit firm
social work-associated with an NGO which works for wildlife conservation and offlate trying to bag a UNICEF project in my state.
sports-have played cricket at the school and college level
hobbies-indian politics,cricket

my queries are
1)given a good cat score in the range of last years cutoff for IMI wat are my chances of final selection into IMI?
2)wat is the weightage given to different selection criteria like CAT written.academic profile,extra currics etc
3)and wat is the weightage of the type of work ex(auditor) i have as u know cat is giving weightages to work ex sectors now?

ur profile looks gud with some diversity!
ur queries:
1)ur final selection is based on first ur cat score.if u clear the cut offs, u will be called for the next round.

2)once u r in gd-pi, the weightage will be less on your cat score and more on ur academic background, extra curriculars, work ex, hobbies..
u all should be thorough with your acads..its a must!!!

3)regarding type of work ex, it is more important u describe ur roles in ur area and u have substantial knowledge..if u are well versed with ur work ex, it is not an issue of any sector..

hi chhavi!

As I just mentioned above, u require to clear the cutoff in CAT for call for next round of admissions.Once you are there, Cat score will have less weightage and more weightage will be given to your acads, extra curriculars, work ex, hobbies etc..

CAT scores are not used at the time of final selection... They r used only at the time of giving calls
